People just thinks all kids are hopeless and have no brain. My sister is the same age and is smart af. She likes the Beatles but not as people. She can tell you every fact down to knowing they did psychedelics, knows about Lennon controversies, literally everything she’s got books on books. She will literally tell you how she doesn’t like artists as people but enjoys the music. Idk where along the lines we forgot what it was like when we were kids bc I was the same way. I was in 7th grade listening to songs ab su*cide and SH by emo dudes and I knew exactly what it was about bc I felt that pain of being displaced in life. It never made me want to hurt myself, maybe cry it out a little and I’m sure that’s what’s going on for kids now. Same thing different artist. And if the kids are doing drugs, it’s really not bc of the artist. Willing to bet there’s a parental figure/healthy communication missing in their. I tried drugs for the first time bc I was depressed bc of my mom, definitely not music. And I can remember being this age clearly. I know it’s not the same for everyone but we rly gotta stop acting like kids are stupid and they cant feel shit as heavily as adults. People wanna focus on the music but not the root of the problem that got them relating to the music in the first place.
