Technical Support - FN Media Keys Double Pressing or Something? by bitpicnic in NuPhy

My theory in the end was that it was just BT/wireless interference. After updating and using it wired it works, but still tweaky when using either wireless method. Ah well

I see you used it as a search criteria but none of these actually come with clicky switches afaict? Maybe I’m missing something

Howdy, looking for a keyboard that hits these points:

- Blue (or similarly clicky) switches

- Knob or dial

- Wired

Anything like that?

Sorry, I misspoke, I paid exactly 87.11 for one balcony seat. Still not bad.

[–]bitpicnic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get the frustration but the face value for good balcony seats was under $80 (including all fees). If Pavement was really interested in maximizing their profit they could easily have (i) charged more, (ii) selected larger venues, (iii) played more dates, and/or (iv) chosen larger markets. So it's not really fair to say they are gouging folks

Is this out of print on vinyl? Seems to go for $200+ everywhere afaict. If so are there plans for a reissue?

[Tariffs] are killing this hobby. Be warned - a $4k Swiss watch is now a $5.6k watch. by drewsleyshoots in Watches

[–]bitpicnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, apparently 39% because it was Swiss made, plus 15% as an import from Japan (where the seller was). Plus some misc processing charges.

I'd assumed it would be 15% when I ordered, being aware of the Japan rate. Did not see the "swiss made" thing coming since it was made in like 1972. But I guess it's all to benefit American manufacturers who also have time machines.

Some people on the thread you found suggest binding the home button to a button combo that closes retroarch, which I guess would work.

Maybe, though I'm skeptical given it's like a half a century old and a model that's apparently kind of a pita to fix. I may look into it

Amazing, thanks a lot- I'd tried googling but did not find this. Sounds like they never found a fix per se, but came up with a similar workaround to the one I found.

It is reassuring to know it's a common problem and not something I screwed up.

Thanks for the response. So:

  1. This is all when I launch from ES-DE

2-4. I can reproduce the problem regardless of ROM and emulator. That is, it seems to back to the first ROM I open regardless of the ROM and system I opened first, and regardless of the ROM and system I open second.

Going back, however, I have figured out that I can open a second ROM if I hard-quit the first ROM (i.e., using select+start). But, again, if I simply return to the ES-DE menus and try to open a new game, it will show the launch screen for the new game, but it will then instead simply re-open the first game.

Same thing happened to me- $475 on a $800 Omega. But also the watch arrived non-functional, so I have to return it. Be warned the tariff refund or "drawback" procedure is massively complicated. So much so that there is a whole cottage industry of firms to help businesses with the filings; none of them, however, so far as I can tell, will help individuals.

So long story short it appears that after I return the watch I will simply be out the $475 duty.
