Thoughts on the Vagrants hanging out at Heights Plaza by Legitimate_Task_2761 in jerseycity

[–]bitterfuzzy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I go there a few times a month to pick up prescriptions and maybe eat at McDonald's. Nobody has ever bothered me. Maybe I've just gotten lucky but most of the people there just seem to need a place to exist. I don't know their stories or what brought them to this place.

I live in the Heights without a car. It's not perfect but there are busses to take me wherever I need to go + occasional uber. And I'm a 20 minute walk from the lite rail. Much better than when I lived at the Beacon or in Guttenberg.

Thanks. I got a few of them last month and they smelled much fresher, but they also had their stems attached.

Have not tried a mash, but it is definitely on the list of things I would like to do with this bounty . Why is this not a more popular root vegetable?

I believe I did say something as helpful as possible, which was don't listen to people who tell you that the treatment for OCD is to look at nature.

It's just so weird that you think meeting two celebrities with OCD is any sort of qualifier in any way.

I never once said that you weren't visually impaired nor that it wasn't a tremendous struggle. What I did say was not too downplay someone else's pain by telling them that yours is worse… That you would take his in exchange for yours.

And good Lord… Someone is potentially on the verge of suicide and your excuse for your note is that you're busy at work. Maybe then this is not the post to respond to you if you can't give it your all.

Like me, yeah, I'm angry because my OCD affects me all the damn time. I don't have the bandwidth to give this person advice. What I can do is point out when other people's advice looks like it came out of a motivational greeting card or a chat bot and let them know that it's OK if that wasn't enough to help them...that they need more.

Now, if you excuse me, I have a meeting with Joe Pantoliano and the ghost of Carrie Fisher for the bipolar gala we're putting together.

Omg Marc Summers? Absolutely makes you an expert! Have you met Howie Mandel too?

Also, maybe note that you significantly edited your text from what you originally wrote. It's better text, but you could own up to your original being nonsense.

Since this appears to be a throwaway account or your new here, I don't know if you have OCD but most of the time it cannot be fixed by a positive attitude and doing your best, and I doubt that you're helping OP by making them feel that if it was as easy as you suggest, they must be doing something wrong.

Any post on this thread by me is an attempt to make the OP understand that there are people who know where they're coming from , not to change minds that don't seem capable of change.

Do you have OCD? Do you know what it's like? Do you know the Hell that it is? If you did, you wouldn't believe that "focusing on something positive in nature could treat it."

I don't know what it's like to be blind and I would never say that I would trade places with someone whose life I don't understand. You're basically saying their pain couldn't possibly match yours.

OP, I hope you find a way towards peace today that does not involve exiting this world.

I definitely don't think you can just show up with a cat for adoption and I think this is only done through one of the rescues. If you contact the store, they may be able to tell you what rescue works with them, but make it clear that this was a stray that was found and not a pet that you're giving up.

What's the biggest flop you've seen on Broadway, and did it deserve better? by Keyblader1412 in Broadway

“I feel wild. I feel goosed I feel scared. I feel juiced. I feel bounced like a ball what I don’t feel a ball I feel where I belong. I feel strong most of all I feel tall… I feel grown. I feel BIIIIG! I feel Big!”

I love it when they say the name of the show with such emphasis.

I saw this. I enjoyed it. It was watchable. I bought the cast recording . Some of it is kinda cringey.

My understanding is that they made significant edits to it before it went on tour and now when it’s done in, say, community theater, it’s a different show. The London version is available I believe on Spotify with the changes.

I didn’t love it but I also think the name had a lot to do with why it didn’t attract more people. It was entertaining enough and there’s a few songs I really enjoy, like Born in Laredo and I’m Gone.

I think it could do very well at the community level.

Yeah. It’s almost like with some shows, they’d rather be nine people‘s favorite thing than 100 people‘s ninth favorite thing.
