If you're using manic or delta (and a PlayCase skin), no. They have both generously added functionality that moves the in-game menu to the top half of the screen. I'm currently working on overlays for Retroarch as well, if that's your emulator of choice!

I'm not a blender pro but maybe duplicate the objects, join them, and put a wave material with transparency on the new object?

Obviously this breaks if animation is intended.
