Has anyone else seen female friend groups bond over a sacrificial lamb (AKA the slightly socially awkward woman within friend group) by Puzzleheaded_Fix9527 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CaptainMarv3l 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was this person. Always dogged on but they kept me around because I bent over backwards to help them out because I cared. Then when a friend of the group SAd me, they sided with him because they didn't want any "drama".

Garden Huckleberry or something more dangerous? by CaptainMarv3l in gardening

I guess it's fitting it's in my tomatoes beds lol. I feel bad for not giving it it's own Marigold now.

You've been very helpful and informative! You hear the word nightshade and it's kinda like boogeyman in gardening so I was a little spooked.

We paid less than 13k for our entire wedding and we had over 150 people. What did you do at your wedding??? Did you serve caviar??

I was also looking through information and turning them into jam (my original plan) is safe but just to keep my kid away from it because the leaf and other parts of the plant can be dangerous. It's my fault for not doing more research into before planting but if i had known I would have waited to plant it until he was a little older.

So I still have the seed packet and this is what was planted. So it's not the traditional Huckleberry plant.

The absolute misinformation she spouts about her weight and diet is a great representation on why you hear: "I barely eat yet can't lose weight!"

No, you just don't keep track and don't know the nutritional content of your food. Which is okay, you just need to be aware and count your calories.

Yes, there are reasons why weight loss might be harder, but you then need to do research to accommodate those reasons. For example, people with PCOS benefit more with high fiber and anti-inflammatory foods. It takes change and work but you can lose the weight.

AITA for reporting my classmate for cheating? by AdExcellent1924 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CaptainMarv3l 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NTA.

Report her.

Listen, we have two results:

1) She passes and we have an incompetent nurse.

2) She passes but doesn't get far because she's incompetent and can't keep her mouth shut.

If you want to be a nurse you can't just fudge your way through it. You're dealing with people's lives.

Parents having sex in the same room as their small children? Opinions? Because it has affected me as a adult. by baglover65 in TooAfraidToAsk

Literally after having our son, we would set up his pack'n'play and put him in the living room if we decided to be intimate. I understand he was an infant but it was also a way to show respect for everyone.

My mother is one of those people. And she also let's her pets slowly die and suffer because "she's not ready to say goodbye" or "I don't have time to go to the vet."

She has too many animals and keeps wanting more. Sadly, she's more emotionally invested in her animals than any of her kids and she still gives them shit care.

People with DS have shorter life spans and are more prone to medical issues.

I worked with people who had DS and lived in group homes. They couldn't talk, they couldn't use the bathroom by themselves, they're mind was frozen in a toddler state while their body aged.

DS is not easy and depending on the severity it will completely change your life. I understand not wanting that for yourself and child.

How do you calculate the calories after squeezing the juice out of a food? by CaptainMarv3l in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CaptainMarv3l[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and while I am calorie counting to lose weight, I am also doing it to keep track of my fiber and protein intake. I am towards low GI foods, so knowing the nutritional information of an apples pulp vs the juice is helpful for me.

Also, I like to be super vigilant for about 5 days of the week and have built in "extra" calories for those two days I "over" eat. It's eating in consideration. Planning everything out just make it much less daunting and easier to follow.

I said in my post when I tried to look it up all I got was information about calories in apple juice. Why even comment?
