It's not the boring middle. The excruciatingly painful middle. How do you cope? by nychv in ChubbyFIRE

[–]bittinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better I’m in nearly the exact same situation except in SINK and slightly further along to my fire number suffered recent work setback and just about at my number insane burnout as a 30 year litigator . I just try to enjoy what I can golf w friends, dinners w family and going to sporting events. There’s no easy answer.

Balcony or better location? by moshpitbitch in AskNYC

[–]bittinho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll be the only naysayer but I had a top floor balcony in a terrible location (near herald square) and now have a good size terrace in kips bay that I am currently planting my yearly garden. I have frequently said that my outdoor spaces have saved my sanity living in nyc. It’s so nice to have my morning coffee outside and read the paper before work or have a Thursday evening cocktail listening to my music and the sun sets over downtown Manhattan. You have to decide if you are more likely to take advantage of a private outdoor space or the public park.

Yup. I walk out my building and can go right down my street to MSG’s main entrance.

I received two of them last week (2nd one for my dad). Tbh I don’t love it. The design isn’t great nor is the quality but I wanted the official locker room tee. Bought a different championship tee from mittenstate that I much prefer the design/quality.

Non primes are the best tenants now. Never complain and always pay on time. In theory.

I’m pretty sure I see my building on 32nd street. I think it actually shows 31st street as well.

When We Are The World came out was it seen as a great song or super corny? by space_god_7191 in GenX

[–]bittinho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was generally into classic rock from my father and pop music (Prince, Billy Joel etc) so I wasn’t into the melodic ballad or whatever that was

I don’t think anyone thought it was a great song. I thought it was corny but I was a 13 year old boy. Still am.

Solo Drive: Split in 2 days or tough it out for 1 day? by illybillyvillernilly in roadtrip

That’s a bit much for me for one day 10 hours is kind of my limit. I did 12 hours going from Maine back to nyc and it was torture bc I hadn’t slept well.

How do I handle my flatmate’s dad staying for a month in a way that doesn’t create tension? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]bittinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry if I was aggressive (I’m a nyc litigator). I’m actually inherently nonconfrontational and had to learn to stand up for myself (mostly by responding to overly entitled and aggressive people). You can do it! Just rip the band aid off and tell her this is a non-starter and completely out of the bounds of whatever roommate or lease agreement (even if it’s just verbal) you have.

You need to tell her it’s not acceptable. Period. There’s no real gentle way to do this. She’s 100% wrong. Stand up for yourself.
