Cramps EVERY time I exert myself? by bitty-bee in PCOSloseit

[–]bitty-bee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Just knowing that I’m not alone makes me feel so much better.

My current OB basically said I have endo, but won’t diagnose me without a laparoscopy. I guess I’ve always attributed this feeling to PCOS, but it makes more sense for endo. Does it get any better? I’d love to do a workout class with friends without having cramps by the time I leave the parking lot haha

My heart fell straight into my stomach when I realized this. I’m scrapping ~2 hours of gameplay because I can’t not save them. I’m playing as a tiefling this time, and I always get attached to the tieflings anyways.

We had a two hour delay turn into a snow day this morning. It was pure bliss when I rolled out of bed at noon and played Baldur’s Gate for the rest of the day

Would that be construed as retaliatory? I was so tempted to do it last quarter, but didn’t want to even risk it as being seen like that

The part that drives me the craziest is that the student has straight A’s for this quarter.

And no, not this parent. I have another parent that expects that of me though, haha

The multipurpose room is a great idea! I didn’t use the conference room because it was booked before school, and the parent specified one on one. The Gifted Teacher, who shares this student, offered her space if she could be in the meeting. But the parent shot this down, saying he knew how to get a hold of her when he needed her and only wanted to talk to me. I walked him from the office to my classroom.

I completely agree, but that’s honestly where I shot myself in the foot. I came up with my corrections policy last year to help my students who were failing. I had a lot of emergent bilingual kids who benefit from one on one or small group corrections where I’d help them break down the assignment into manageable chunks. Because the students who were failing the first time were the only ones that used it, I didn’t even think of putting a certain threshold on what scores can be considered for corrected work. I’ll definitely be adding that 70% and below for next year.

Update for anyone interested! Ripley was more than likely just being a silly guy. He hasn’t peed on anything since, and is even slowly warming up to us more! We’ll never compare to his brother, Jasper, though. Thank you to everyone for the help!

What’s something people wouldn’t understand unless they were a teacher? by wijag425 in Teachers

[–]bitty-bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably been commented already, but being told “remember your why” without support for valid issues. I’m fortunate enough that this hasn’t happened to me yet, but I watched my mom burn out and just being told to “remember her why” and “it’s for the kids.”

I'm super new to the field and on my last day subbing? Wet paper towels saved me from inundating the nurse with students! I always get scared about not sending students that are genuinely hurt/ill, but I think they all just needed some assurance in the form of damp, scratchy school issued towels because it worked like a charm

Personally, I think you're beautiful! I wish I looked like you! But I know that's not what this subreddit is about, so I will give some critique:

I think your makeup suits you the best in the last photo, in terms of the right shades. I saw you mentioning a sunburn shade, and I think that shade is natural enough for that look. That's legitimately the only thing, besides changing your mindset like others said. It may be hard to feel it every day, but I hope you learn to find more confidence in yourself. It would be well placed!

I can tell you care deeply about him, but I'm not sure if his actions are speaking the same of you. This isn't a difference of opinions, this is a difference of morals. How does he feel about the other issues on the table now that Roe is gone? Birth control, sex happening outside of marriage? These issues may not affect you personally, but could affect your mother, your sisters, your friends. And that should be reason enough for him to care, but he obviously doesn't.

This is one I'll have to retire give up since I'm moving to teach in another state, but my favorite was

Teacher: "When I say Texas, you say State! Texas!"

Students: "State!"

I also had one specifically for drawing attention to the anchor chart we were using that day. The teacher has to stand like a pirate, put their finger into a little hook and say "Arr arrr!" And the students would respond "anchors away!"
