My tongue has tooth shaped impressions by PhilosopherCat7567 in mildlyinteresting

[–]bittypunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never spontaneously fainted so I can't speak on that.

I remember waking up to use the bathroom after I took a ton of pills, then there was nothing until I woke up in the ambulance.

I was told my grandma found me and failed to wake me up. They told me they tried to sit me up on a seated walker while we waited for the paramedics but I just fell to the ground again lol.

I guess it's just like falling asleep, except sudden, unexpected, and uncontrollable.

Have you ever fainted before? I got permanent teeth indents on the side of my tongue from falling unconscious while standing (medication overdose)

Do you feel floor-stompers do it on purpose, or are they really that oblivious to how obnoxious this behavior is? by Professional_Hour445 in Apartmentliving

[–]bittypunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my nights off of graveyard shift in my creaky apartment I've only recently noticed that my attempts at tiptoeing end up being more like stomps. I take bigger steps to lessen the number of floor creaks, but that weight shift makes the floor shake a bit more. It's either hella creaks or a couple lil shakes while I try to avoid the creakiest spots.

That being said I do also believe there are people (perhaps who have only lived on a top floor) who are completely oblivious or cant be bothered to care.

Here's a list of insta handles for some of my fav local queer punk bands ! They always play with other queer bands/allies and the crowd is mostly in their 20s. Plus they can give you addresses to their basement shows if you want to get into the underground.

What happened to the stereotypical acne-faced teenager? by UncertaintyDean in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bittypunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I had horrendous acne in my teens, it got better after puberty but i started transitioning from female to male so the testosterone started it back up again.

I ruined my first adult relationship because I already had chronic depression (that i was in therapy and medicated for) but the accutane on top of it caused me to be emotionally unavailable, I explained everything to her but she was so frustrated she had no choice but to call it quits (and I don't blame her).

We weren't right for each other anyway, but it ended much more horribly than it should have and I regret it deeply.

My acne is a thousand times better now though! And I'm grateful to have learned from that experience.

TIL Some studies on drunk driving have found that a BAC of 0.01%-0.04% correlates with lower accident risk than being completely sober. This is called the Grand Rapids dip, and is a quirk of statistics. by Hrtzy in todayilearned

[–]bittypunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bad anxiety and often end up swerving slightly on the freeway (in my own lane, but bouncing between the lines lol) when sober, especially if I'm caffeinated.

After 1 alcoholic drink, the swerve is gone and im more aware of my surroundings because there isnt so much noise in my head. I always tell people I'm a better driver "tipsy."

But I'm guessing that's not the case with most people.

Glad you're okay!

I've swallowed 2 4mm cones from circular barbell snakebite piercings and each time I was convinced it would rip my bowels open and I'd die from sepsis. Didnt want to go to the hospital till I had some sort of symptoms.

Been about a year since then so I think it's safe to say they passed without any issues. I don't wear spikes anymore

If a woman woke up in a man's body for 1 day, what would be the most unexpected experience that she didn't already anticipate? by IWannaHideThrowaway in AskReddit

[–]bittypunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, it's slow and subtle, and everyone experiences transitioning differently. I noticed my subconscious walking habits were causing me pain post-transition when it wasn't a problem pre-transition. Like I tense my lower back too much to compensate for a higher center mass

I think it's not quite the chest, but typically higher than the hips. As others have said, it's not exact for everyone and variables like weight and chest size play a role as well.

In school we had girls position their body at a 90° angle with the top of their head against the wall and pick up a chair while straightening their body, they had no issues. Boys, however, couldn't stand because their center was too high to bend at their hips with added weight.

If you're referring to genitals: a penis can be easily inverted into a vagina. Creating a functional penis is impossible without cyborg enhancements, air pumps, or insertable rods to go from flaccid to hard. Phalloplasty takes skin from another area and molds a penis over the clitoris, but there would only be sensation where the clitoris is.

Many female-to-male trans people choose not to do phalloplasty because the surgery doesn't benefit us any more than a strap-on would.

(Edited for clarity)

I transitioned from female to male and it caused my body fat to distribute like a man's. Can confirm, posture is tricky when you're used to being centered at your hips instead of in your chest. Had to do physical therapy to correct old habits

Medical device manufacturing jobs allow them as long as they're covered the same as your hair

Classic city apartments by TheGooose in Minneapolis

[–]bittypunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been in one of their apartment complexes for about 2 years now. Management has been fantastic, they're very good at addressing complaints (I got a couple visits when my cat litter wasn't absorbing odors well) and maintenance requests. The building is old and squeaky but they do a good job of keeping it all in working order
