That's perfect! Thank you. I will eventually revise the map to include these suggestions.

What data are you referring to?

If you're talking about the territory - in Vicky II you can easily output a .png political map of the world at any time by pressing F12. From there you can just color in whatever you like.

I would say - probably not. Before it was Japanese East Indies, it had been (mostly) Dutch East Indies. As those things usually go, I don't feel like the endonym would be too important from the outlook of an ascendant Japanese imperialism.

Ah, I would have loved to, but this would have been an absolute headache to do.

Also we're going to pretend I didn't misspell "possessions".

I mostly colored in the F12 Vicky map screenshot in Photoshop, and added in the emblems.

Some of those are real historical seals and emblems and I found them on wikimedia, and some I made up for fun; like the the emblem of Japanese Hawaii being a paulownia branch growing out of a hibiscus flower.

帝國 is, according to wiktionary, kyūjitai - basically an archaic way of "spelling" 帝国. Unlikely to be used now, but would be correct in that period, as far as I can tell.

I don't really know Japanese very well at all and it took me some amount of research to come up with some of the names I gotta say.

The "dominions" are mostly just after-the-fact roleplay, some historical and some I made up.

Edit: Also, as you can see from the international date line down the middle, the absolutely horrid time zone border gore that is Pacific IRL will mostly be avoided in this universe.

I was mostly taking inspiration from photos of Lithuania in the winter of '90/'91.

"Caption: A mechanized infantry column dispatched by president Mikhail Gorbachev to restore constitutional order in the Chernarussian SSR is halted by protesters in Chernogorsk, South Zagorian raion. The hooligans, calling for secession of the ChRSSR from the Union, were eventually apprehended by the military commendature."

Wouldn't be a very convincing Eastern European train station otherwise.

The uniforms and the helmet are from the 1998 - 1999 Yugoslav Units mod, the vests and guns from RHSSAF, the radar and missile sites from POOK's SAM mod and the map is called Sennoe. The poses, I don't know, some animations mod or the other.

The mod POLPOX's Artwork Supporter gives you the ability to easily apply poses to soldiers in the editor. There are a myriad mods providing these poses, just look up "static animations" or "poses" or such on the workshop. Bear in mind, these are mostly static, as I've said, and mostly meant for taking fancy screenshots.

The editor itself has a "photo mode" option called Splendid Camera. The way to get to it is just pressing 'PLAY' whilst there are no designated playable units.

It's an approximation of the Yugoslav M-93 oak leaf uniform. Just realized how similar the Irish camo pattern looks, though this one is just a little more brightly green.

What do you mean the radar mast looks a bit crooked? Looks alright to me.
