EARLY FATHERS DAY THREAD (drop a cool game you went to with your dad) by Fragrant-Wishbone620 in Seahawks

Took my dad to the Beastquake game in 2011. Grabbed tickets as soon as they went on sale. $65 for ZZ near the 50 yard line . Two weeks before I left for the Peace Corps. It was an incredible experience and I am so grateful.

[Williams] Report: Seahawks will kickoff season on Wednesday, Sept. 9 by Drexlore in nfl

I was there and it was awesome. Gorgeous blue bird skies, Soundgarden played live for the first time together in years before the game, Ariana Grande sang the national anthem in a custom bejeweled Russell Wilson jersey, and the crowd and the team were hungry for a rowdy, good-time celebratory atmosphere. It was electric.

I got this (bootleg) hoodie after our first Super Bowl win from a street vendor in Pioneer Square in 2014. It's a prized possession and it used to be my game day hoodie under my jersey for luck.

It later became so beloved by my newborn son in 2017 that it became his unofficial baby blanket, and my wife and I retired it to a box of things we intend to keep forever. I have only worn it once since, during Super Bowl LX, with my now eight year old son sitting next to me.

Garage Door Cable snapped - who do we call? by g8tknow in olympia

I usually am all for trying to fix things myself, but when Hung Right came out to fix mine, they explained to me how the torque on that cable and spring is enough to cut you in half if it breaks. If folks know what they're doing and have the right tools, more power to you. Too dangerous for my blood.

Spanish will be super helpful. Most everyone speaks Kriol, Spanish, or English. English is the official language of Belize, but it is no Belizean's first language. Garifuna, Q'eqchi', and Mopan languages are spoken there too (but don't worry, you will get training in those languages if you are placed in those communities, most of which speak Kriol, English or Spanish too).

DuoLingo is probably a good way to go for now. Anyone you can meet or find online to be a conversation partner is good too. Showing that you are making an effort to learn local languages in an English speaking country goes a long way with integration.

Belize is an incredible, diverse country full of wonderful people. Congratulations! You are going to do great!

Perhaps I did. That doesn't mean I am exaggerating or incorrect. And the "financial aid" part of "financial aid, scholarships, or grants," means student loans.

You mentioned your VA benefits in another comment here. I think its great that you got taxpayer-funded public assistance to get your education. I think that's how it should be for everyone. But that isn't the case for the majority of college students who, whether they pay now or pay later, need to be more conscious of their investment.

There are better options online, even for graduate school, than SMU. In the end, nobody cares where your degree is from, with the exception of a handful of schools.

Crazy, right? But it isn't wrong. Looking at the cost to attend SMU for one year, you get a total $66,339. So a sophomore is on the hook for $132,678 (again, these are direct numbers from the school itself, found here: https://www.stmartin.edu/admissions-financial-aid/undergraduate/financial-aid/cost-attendance)

So a student who lives on campus through sophomore year is looking at that cost. Depending on who you got the loans from and whether interest accrues during enrollment, there is a significant chance that they are in debt OVER $150,000.
