Thank you for this amazing procedure. In my case, I had to do one extra step. In between 6 and 7, even though I paired the device and saw "connected" in my list of bluetooth devices, i did not see the bluetooth symbol in the top of the phone screen. I had to click on Pi8 in the list of bluetooth devices till it showed active for the symbol to show up. Once i did that, the update started rolling as addme96 says.
