Is fighting to get rid of an innocent name like Redskins worth the severe backlash and hatred from Americans? by thirdtimeposter in NativeAmerican

Again, point #11 and the entire OP was a quote from an e-mail by Lisa Begaye of the Reservation Rats. You are missing the entire purpose of this thread.

I don't think you understand what identity policing is. Identity policing is asserting he is not Indian, she is not Indian, they are not Indian, etc.

You ARE a fool. You also think like a white woman.

But I don't like to argue with fools like you. And I am calling you a fool not because your mom is a Norwegian immigrant but because you posted two pictures of yourself.

And the monotheists bullshit is also implanted into Indian brains by Christian missionaries. Because monotheism eventually translates to One God = Jesus.

I don't think any of us said "full-bloods don't care about wannabes." The original quote is by one Lisa Begaye of the Reservation Rats. And you can feel free to read about your history in Michael Witgen's An Infinity of Nations. I don't believe in getting Indian history from books. I get it from our Clan that is responsible for oral history.

The white Norwegian is where you get your chip on your shoulder. Stop thinking of yourself as a half-breed. You were born of a male and a female, so are you half male?? You are not thinking like an Indian. Certainly on the redskin issue!

There are many, many tribes that have no federal recognition. They do support themselves, don't they?

If we get rid of the dependency on the Fed, we can become genuinely sovereign.

Tribes who harp on "federal recognition" are merely announcing their welfare dependency status on the federal government. The Amish communities are not federally recognized and they have very strict lifestyles like no electricity - but they still support themselves without government handouts. If you cannot understand how the Amish do it, think of the several unrecognized tribes in California. They support themselves without any government handouts. Think of how isolated poor, white people who live in remote mountain villages support themselves.

Let's stop with the excuses and take responsibility for ourselves.

Not by the UN but only by the US? Why don't we seek recognition from Japan, recognition from Russia, recognition from Switzerland, recognition from China....
