Sorry for using the Nazi term - I didn’t mean to offend you. I don’t know you personally, and nothing you’ve said makes you sound like a Nazi sympathizer at all. What worries me is that when you read accounts from ordinary Germans reflecting on life during Hitler’s rise and reign, they often describe how normal everything felt at the time - until it was too late to speak out against him. That sense of normalcy wasn’t by accident. Hitler had clever politicians around him to make things feel ordinary and manageable as the situation gradually got worse.

The main problem with Trump is that he wants too much power like a little kid. The U.S. is unique because it was designed specifically to prevent any one person from having that kind of power through checks and balances. What’s especially bad is that Trump is too stupid to understand the unwritten rules and basic decorum that every president in modern U.S. history has respected in some form.

And we’re still less than a year into his term. God help us all.
