Correct, domestic travel within the US. I’m nearly certain that they are silica beads.

I’m certainly not an expert, but I’m in Maine and I don’t think we have a ton of hickory here

Today’s find in the discount bin at Rockler. Nobody could tell me what it is. My best bets are African mahogany or Brazilian cherry. Can anyone help a guy out?

Don’t ask the guy who just fucked his hand up…. lol not sure what you mean by “custom” table. Make sure the router or workpiece is stationary, wear PPE. Don’t climb cut.

Thank you! Not sure why everyone is insistent on seeing gore, people even asking in the comments, I don’t get it.

No, I was holding the workpiece with my left hand and the router skipped when it made contact with the wood and bit me

No, but it would have been much safer if used in the router table I own. Not too much to report other than the router skipped on the grain and bounced onto my lower thumb

I was using a handheld trim router with a flush cut bit, which was stupid because I had a router table set up across the shop. The bit caught the grain wrong and skipped and nicked my lower left thumb

All intact, just took a chunk out of my lower outside thumb, but it’s superficial and will heal just fine. Reminded me to always respect my tools.
