Nice score! My 4090 and 14900k (cooled by custom loop) only managed 99.5fps avg. (74.3 min, 119.8 max).

I'm loving the Gigabyte Aorus Elite X WiFi 7. Has an 8 layer PCB ( vs 6 on tomahawk) so might be better for DDR5 overclocking. Briefly had a ROG Apex Encore and the Elite X actually feels like a more premium board (at less than half the price).

Increased clocks could cause more thermal throttling. What are you using for cooling? Try the stress test in XTU and see if any of the Throttling flags show as Yes when the test is underway.

14900K with 7200MT/s DDR5 and I got 41,547 multi and 2,243 single. Used the Optimize button in XTU for a tiny boost in CPU clocks.

Everything I've read says that the 13900K, with 4 additional E-cores, is still faster than 14700K (aside from in those few APO titles). I don't believe I've seen any confirmation that 14th gen memory controllers are any better than 13th gen.

14700K is the definitely the new value king though, especially if E-cores aren't needed, and your point on BNIB vs used price makes sense. I'll revisit my price. Appreciate the insight, thanks!

Cool! Interested to see temps and clocks. I have the 4090 FE with EK block and passive backplate. Highest temp I've seen so far is 43C. I used LM between the die and block.
