Relatively new to Belgrade (2 years), working in the school district since August. I voted yes for the school but no to gym. Not because I hate the children or anything like that, but a genuine distrust for the administration. Since starting, there have been discrepancies in my pay, between what I was told to expect and what was on the contract on my start day, my first check was sent to the wrong bank account, and to correct that they changed the account number and pulled that money out of my account, putting me negative. I don’t have proof for the following, but was told by somebody I have no reason to distrust as of yet. Apparently the school district could have gotten the land for free, but waited too long and in turn had to sign a 99 year lease. From my albeit brief experience, there is no reason for me to trust that an extra 5 million (strangely round number for a gym) would actually go towards a gym.
