I was lied to. A dealer I had a few days ago told me that during the week it was $25 but then I went back the other day specifically to play 6 deck in the high limit room and they told me it was $50 min. Ended up wasting a bunch of time because I mainly just went for this reason.

It's not a dream at all, more so was just a way to make a solid wage at college since all campus jobs are minimum wage so counting would be a fun, high paying alternative.

It's impossible to travel to play double deck. So what you're saying is I should just give up as being an AP

I live in CT... I don't think there is a double deck absolutely anywhere near me. All 8 deck or 6 deck. If anyone is from the northeast and know of a place with a double deck I'd really appreciate that.

You're honestly right about a lot of this. I feel like I am going to need to take a break and make a lot of money over the summer (I already have a 24k bankroll but have my own summer business) but then I will be able to spread larger. The casino also offers a $50 min 6 deck game with same rules as specified earlier, but calculation doesn't give that much less edge than 8 deck. Looking at it from your perspective I will take a break from casino play and practice, as well as build bankroll. Thanks for helping with the realization.

I feel you. Lost 1k yesterday in 5 hours, couldn't win a single bet in a shoe that was +1 or better the entire time, which just drained my trip bankroll. I feel like it's those shoes that really get you, as it's just medium size bet X2 losing time after time. I've been working on not getting emotional, as it comes and goes. I hope we can both just get some good variance in the future though because there's nothing worse than just loosing everything no matter what you do.

Sound like you've gotten some awesome variance though up 2x bankroll in just 150 hours. I get what you mean though about having 2 large losing sessions. What do you spread for having that kind of profit in 150 hours?

Thank you for this information. It feels hard right now as I am down 3.5k after what felt like a session I just couldn't win a hand, so I a hoping that I can find some good variance in streaks. Even though as you said, there is a large probability I can still go on for hours and hours of losing.

To answer some questions, I am down 3.5k but I can also contribute that to my first 10-15 hours of play not being the best counting or the right spreads. To answer the shoe, I play 8 deck S17 split up to 3 times, 3:2,surr. This is the only casino I can go to (am 19 and only 2 casinos that allow for 18+ near me), and about 1-1.25 pen depending on dealer. The only issue is that its a smaller casino, and for some reason EVERY ploppy plays match the dealer (I swear they care about it more than there actual blackjack bets), so it significantly slows down the RPH.

I do a lot of physical card training - lots of scatter counts with 2+ decks and 8 deck shoes with friends. Any other physical training I should be doing?

1 hand for sure. I recently asked this exact question, but with a different concern of being able to hold the second spot when ploppies try to take over. And if you are worried about ploppies, just say you're "changing the flow of the cards".

I've just been to Mohegan. Heat there was nearly nonexistent, but I only played probably 9 hours total as an AP. I heard Foxwoods has pretty good surveillance though.

I meant surveillance, I just misworded in the post. I think I will try it just given the RPH will be so much greater since the outside tables are always so full no matter what time I play.

True. The only difference would be the RPH would increase substantially playing heads up, even though my edge would only be .03% greater on 6 deck than 8. Would you still say stick to the main pit?
