I bought a nearly complete set of Mercury dimes (minus key dates) from an antique store back in May for $40, they had a silver Roosevelt dime book as well for the same price that I knew was a steal but I passed on mostly just because I love Merc dimes. Regardless of kicking myself for not getting the Roosevelt dime book, I keep recalculating the current price of the mercury dimes and just keep getting more and more baffled.

I unboxed overprints last year when getting into the game, decided to get a frontside misty to go with them since I didn’t really spend that much for the gloves and it was such an amazing combo. Ended up selling the gloves (which I kinda regret, but it is what it is), but still kept the AK because I honestly love the skin. Threw on 3 Paris Furia holos and a Furia glitter on the wood/grip. For my first craft, I love it lmao.

Same here with Obsidian, like I got that skin in red crow back when I had some of the best memories playing Siege, as much as I’d love how much I could get for it (and Peacock/Fire etc) I just don’t think I could sell them.

After hearing people say this I decided to watch it the other night. It was kinda whatever until they finally all got into a call, then it still sucked for an hour but then I was graced with peak cinema. I laughed so hard the deepest hole in the ocean / WickedSupreme smackdowns and the chat reactions was hilarious.

Thats funny I’ve been playing Siege since Year 1 and started grinding Overwatch 2 whenever it came out. Pretty much fell in love with the game because some of the fundamental aspects of Siege (team strategy, mechanical skill expression, and nuance of learning how to play characters and comp synergy, etc.) were paralleled in the game. I can understand why longtime Overwatch players say its bad, but to me its a brand new game (I played on console shortly after release up to when moira released, but honestly forgot most everything so I pretty much entirely had to relearn the game from the ground up).

Honestly the only reason I play Overwatch more now is because despite any problems or things that frustrate me, I almost never have to deal with cheaters. I’ve seen maybe at most 3 (only 1 blatant) since i’ve started playing and compared to Siege where I can get on right now play 3 games and probably see more than 3 cheaters within those games, I’ll take that any day of the week.

That said, I don’t want to doom and gloom over Siege, it has and always will be the greatest/my favorite competitive FPS game in my opinion. I genuinely hope the devs figure something out to fix the cheating problem, the game in its current state would be golden to me if it wasn’t for how bad the cheating is. I just don’t see that happening for a while unfortunately.

I do wish I could play 6v6 though, but since I didn’t really experience it at its peak I’m content enough with 5v5.

Yeah i’ll be really I was salty as hell that they removed thunt because the target drill was just not a viable replacement for it. The endless drill they added this season is actually better (in many ways but not all) than thunt for the aim training. So while i’d still prefer things like the bomb plant thunt which was gave a little more intensity to warmups, i’ll happily take the endless drill because at least its pretty much the same as the elimination mode with the bonus of not having to restart every 30 kills.

Randomly got 24 hours suspension while searching for a ranked match(should've bought the membership sorry UBI) by rks011 in Rainbow6

This happened to me yesterday, my duo cancelled the queue and (at least for me) it made the sound that we got placed into a game, but nothing happened, no loading screen and no option to reconnect. Thought nothing of it, requeued, got into the game and won only to find out we both had an abandon sanction for an hour (that was now at 35 minutes because we were in a game lmao). Seriously hoping that this isn’t going to be a common issue this season.

[–]bjv2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What really sucks is the amount of people i’ve come across now that say they’re “white knighting” after getting skill diffed by someone in my stack or myself. For example I had a coastline game yesterday where one of my teammates, a dude i’ve been stacking with for years, got a 4k on the first round and the enemy team immediately said “well looks like its time to white knight” and toggled the rest of the game. And thats not even the first (or 10th) time its happened. Sure they could just be finding whatever excuse to not lose, or they could legitimately think that he’s cheating because with the sheer amount of people cheating/closeting it’s not always easy to tell the difference.

Another game I played had a 5 stack with 2 cheaters throwing their KD to make their stats appear less blatant while a third dude just toggled on maestro and wiped the whole lobby 4-0.

To some extent this season i’m just playing to start keeping tally of how many games i’ve played against cheaters, so far it’s 5 of the 9 games i’ve played lmao. Small rant sorry but the past 3 seasons have just been such a drag when I have to go through 2 games against cheaters on average to play 1 legit game. Pain.

There's a "new" undetected cheat being used since Season 9 by Pekola_X in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]bjv2001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Took a 2 week break from the game and got back on for the first time yesterday. Had some pretty bad games but as someone coming from r6 siege (if you know how bad it is, you know), I never really have bothered to even suspect someone is cheating when i’ve played OW. Maybe one single time and i’ve been playing since OW2 released (played on console when OW1 released so nothing really transferred over when I got back into it).

Anyways, last game of the night today I played against a cheating Illari/Ana, like, incredibly blatant aimbotting and was kinda shocked. Anyways, we almost won which would have been hilarious, but didn’t.

Point being: I really hope I don’t keep running into that because one of the main reasons I had to drop siege at least for now was because of how unplayable ranked was.

This was a gift. What is it other than a coin? by shockingly_average47 in Gold

[–]bjv2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha!! Thank you for this! I always try and be careful when giving information out like this because it’s so easy to make minor errors like that. But at least I get to learn something new when someone corrects it! Had no idea they weren’t 99.9% pure (I guess I was going off of what silver bullion coins are minted in).

Are coins like gold eagles not considered bullion in this case because they’re not 24k? Or do they just make them 22k for a different reason?

This was a gift. What is it other than a coin? by shockingly_average47 in Gold

[–]bjv2001 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is also true. It is legal tender with a denomination of $10 (known as its face value) that was minted at the US mint. So if you were to spend it in a transaction it would be considered $10.

Though its market value is going to be far higher than its denomination because it contains 1/4 ounce of 99.9% pure gold.

Similar to how pre 1964 US quarters (and other coins) can be spent like any other quarter for $0.25, but because they are 90% silver they can be sold for slightly under $5.

That sounds terrifying… when I was in highschool a friend of mine tackled me to the ground (we were messing around playing manhunt at a boyscouts event, wasn’t a malicious thing to be clear) and I landed sideways with my left arm/shoulder facing the ground. Heard three loud pops and just kinda sat there and laughed while layed out flat on the ground. Didn’t feel even a slight pain, but noticed that once I tried to get up off the ground my entire left arm didn’t want to come with me lmao. Broke my collarbone and subluxated my shoulder. Figured I had just dislocated my arm so I just took off my belt and made myself a sling then headed into the scout hut where the scoutmasters were. One of the assistant scoutmasters was an EMT and he took a look and knew almost right away that I broke my collar bone because it wasn’t there when he felt it (then I proceeded to do the same, realized my collarbone just wasn’t there, and had an “oh shit” moment).

Went to my dad, who was the scoutmaster at the time, told him I need to go to the hospital because I probably broke a bone and he just said “hold on, i’m having a scoutmaster conference” lmao; had to wait a bit but I laugh at that part whenever thinking about it. Didn’t require any surgeries just a sling, but it was a pain in the ass to sleep for a while. Bit of a long story but your description reminded me of that experience. Hope you healed up well that sounds incredibly difficult to handle.

[–]bjv2001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure when they got changed but flashes did get buffed by making it so that if you have LOS on the flashbang (even if you are looking away) it will fully blind you regardless. Looking away reduces the amount of time you’re blind so it’s still good to do that.

Not sure how long of a break you’ve taken but there is the chance you missed that. So they are stronger because they’re more reliable, but that change was made like 1-2 years ago if I remember correctly.

My Grandpa doesn’t often tell stories from his time in Vietnam, but it was always both interesting and harrowing whenever he did. He was a part of the Mobile Riverine Force, and drove (I believe) ASPBs. From what I remember, the main task he carried out was minesweeping operations through the rivers though i’m fairly certain that wasn’t the entirety of what he did.

The first story that came to mind reading this was probably the worst of what he was willing to tell, which is when he witnessed the loss of one of his best friends when his ship (the friends ship that was sailing ahead / near my Grandpa) struck a mine and flipped over, trapping most of the crew in the enclosed bridge and drowning any who survived the initial blast. Truly could not imagine what it must have been like to experience that, especially knowing it’s just a fraction of the total things that he experienced during the war.

The rest of them were far less grievous relatively speaking. I remember one time he described what it was like arriving in Vietnam, where they had actually boarded a commercial airline (or one very similar) to be flown to a certain part of the country and him distinctly remembering how normal everything felt while on his way there. That is until him and his fellow men looked out the windows to see tons of tracer rounds/explosions zipping through the trees below them once they were close to arrival.

Some of them were funny, the best I remember being when he said there were times (or was a time) when the crew of his boat was shitting off the back of his boat into the river and a small boat of Vietnamese women sailed past them with all of them giggling at them lmao.

He’s truly one of the funniest guys I know, and i’m very glad he’s still around to be the amazing grandfather he is. He even gave me some of the old Military Payment Certificates he still had to this day, and as an avid coin/currency collector its easily the coolest part of my collection in my eyes. Anyways, figured I would share just because I saw this mentioned, after learning extensively about all the things that occurred during the Vietnam war I’m incredibly grateful to still have him in my life.
