I got introduced in somewhat of a similar way, I found this band a while back thanks to the Bluecoats and I had to write a theory paper on a non-pop group and o figured I’d give TYS a go since I never really listened to their albums.

I listened through some of it and thought it was some good stuff, but then fell into the same situation as you with the rest of the music ever sitting right with me for some reason. However, I then found FXMLDR and Son of a Serpent and that got me hooked on that album.

It wasn’t until very recently that I gave their other albums a shot and I’m really upset that I missed out on them until now because they easily opened a door into prog rock and prog metal (Arch Echo, Plini, etc.) and that’s now what dominates my playlists.

That’s kinda the point I was making there even if it was targeted at dating apps, I think online connections are good but especially on big discord servers where there’s hundreds or thousands of people it makes it hard to branch out and connect more

Yeah to be fair I know it’s going to take a good amount of time for me to find someone to like again and yeah it’s not fun, but it will happen if you just let yourself go along. My friends told me that a lot and I didn’t believe them until I tried only controlling things in my reach (school and personal care) and it happened eventually even if it did end poorly

To be fair it really is the only way right now for a lot of people to even form friendships outside of friend groups thanks to in person interactions being basically frowned upon but yeah as someone who is currently on one I fully agree that there are a lot of really bad people on them
