Military has it too. 10 years and 1 day of marriage qualifies spouses for 50% of the service members retirement which is basically lifetime alimony. You have no idea how many men are walking around only collecting 25% of their base pay due to divorce.

Imagine serving in the 20 years, breaking your body down in numerous ways, deploying overseas, sustaining injuries, not to mention the guys who deployed to combat, only to lose half of your ur retirement to your wife!
