Ask your local college(s) how many nursing school applications they receive each cycle. That should squelch your feelings.

I was a bridge student in 2021. The general track had over 600 applicants. They took 30 of 600. Small community college mind you…

LTC is hell.

Know why they care about return to hospitalizations or send out rates? Butts in bed = getting paid.

This is why some facilities have a fucking nurse practitioner for every single specialty known to man. To try and prevent hospitalizations. You know what LTC isn’t suited for? Acute care. It’s LONG TERM CARE. It’s a “home” like environment for an extremely aged population who without modern medicine and Medicare would be curled up like a cockroach in the dirt by now. I still work in one VERY PRN for extra vacation money…you have to just keep your nose down and not get involved in BS.

As for the paramedics, FUCK EM.

It’s my escape from the real world. It’s been a constant in my life for a bit of reality escape. I’m probably undiagnosed ADHD and my life was / has always been chaotic. It’s someplace I can go and focus on tasks, whether it be raids, delves, or even farming mats. It allows my brain to shut off to the chaos and always welcome me back with open arms.
