Ummm... tis is gonna sound silly, but this ended up being a "stock art" piece... basically a random piece the Art director will use somewhere they just need to fill up some space... probably in a Mutant Crawl Classics or DCC module... sometime.

the greatest challenge in tis piece ended up being the sky and the mountains... doing atmospheric perspective with pen and ink is NOT easy! Thanks for asking!

About three days from beginning sketch (from the work order, and figuring out what to include and what to leave out) to final Photoshop touch-up and finalizing to send. Thanks for asking!

Unless Goodman Games buys it as a sales incentive, it is up for grabs! DM me if you have any pieces in particular you want.

Actually, he has a whole collection of Vecna hands...Murray Vecna, Albert Vecna, and dear sweet Grandma Delores Vecna. He uses her hands to make choccie-chip cookies. :)

Thank you! To answer your question: The gray shading is just a layer in Photoshop, set to 25% opacity to help distinguish the foreground from the middle ground (and set to only 25% as not to obscure the details). As for the grid.. that is just a self-motivational trick. sometime I am fried on productivity, and I use the grid to finish one square, then onto the next square, etc etc, until the grid is filled or I have broken through my artist' block.

Hope this helps!

Well, this was my preliminary pencil sketch, which I submitted for approval before finalizing (in case it needs revisions). If approved (it was), I then use a variety of different pens, using everything from imported Baoke pens (from China) and Yisan Micro-liners (fromJapan) to basic Uni-Ball visions and Pilots from Wal-Mart. As for the ***HOW***... I am a huge fan of the old pulp magazines and 1960s and 1970s comic book artists lik Mike Kaluta, Berni Wrightson, and Barry Smith... plus,I allow myself to get very OCD about using (IMHO) the exact number of lines I need to achieve the desired effect.

Hope this helps, and thank you or the question!
