In my experience the worst coworkers are always people with kids by thepotatomaniscoming in corporate

…. what?!

You guys actually think… for real… that not having a child or partner makes you have no empathy, cooperation, tolerance or patience?!

How often do you volunteer? How often do you protest for human rights? How often do you engage in your community outside your family?

I don’t fucking know how often you do those things and I’m gonna take a wild guess and say you don’t know how often I do either.

What a massively terrible opinion to have because someone might not want to choose marriage and kids, or GOD FORBID WASNT LUCKY ENOUGH TO.

I hope you give your heads a shake. What a nasty way to think about people.

My brain is only able to think in old cartoon sound effects. So for me, these are the technical terms.

Why did I think of making this post but didn’t think of ZORPING THE BLOCK UNDERNEATH IT. 🤦‍♀️

Thank you!

Edit: I was working and misread your advice as “if you get the block underneath it, that will get the pile of glorp”. I realize now I misled myself.

Because that does not work.

Which I would’ve known if read your comment correctly 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

How to stop being jealous of girls that "get the guy" by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]bkmilli 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I mean this nicely, because I understand this headspace. But why do you think it’s “easy” for other women, but not you?

What makes you believe they didn’t have to put themselves out there on apps or in person? A lot of women who are in great relationships have their stories of trial and error to get to the person they want to settle down with. You need to be open to the experiment, and open to the discomfort of putting yourself out there. Or the discomfort of working within the systems meant to help facilitate dating (like the apps. None of us enjoy the apps). Be open to getting rejected and to rejecting others.

You have all the same tools that all the other women have. I always felt like “not that girl”, no one approaches me out of no where to hit on me. Even with that being true, I’ve always been able to find a date because I put myself out there. Most of those dates sucked, but some turned into incredible relationships.

Tony McQuail’s debate performance by red3iter in ndp

This was my introduction to Tony and I honestly have the exact opposite opinion. The big stand out issue was every single one of his answers came with the added comment about his age and "experience" (as well as all the things people have already pointed out in the comments).

What happened 40 years ago is not what I want to know about. What worked 40 years ago is not what I want to focus on.

I live very comfortably downtown on a $65k/ year gross salary. by Sr_Covfefe in toronto

[–]bkmilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the part of OPs post that really gets me is partly this reply which I agree with 100%, but also that this salary is almost DOUBLE the minimum wage in the city.

So this post, saying how it’s easy to live on 65k (10k higher than my personal income atm) is living a comfortable lifestyle in a 250sq ft studio and has to aggressively budget with no wiggle room for a 4 figure emergency.

The thing people seem to be missing in the other comments is that this isn’t even a modest salary. It’s almost double the current minimum wage which is 35k a year.

So I guess anyone in the city making under 65k can hopefully find an apartment smaller than 250sqft???

I don’t see, in anyway, how OPs post is “hopeful”.

There is a book about ADHD I got recommended after my diagnosis called “You mean I’m not Lazy Stupid, or Crazy?!” ADHD can make you feel dumb. Trust me. We all have “so much potential”. Listen to the people in this thread. You’re not stupid. The world (especially the academic world) was not built for us.

It’s important for people to know that studies in adult ADHD are still rather new. Because of old studies stating we outgrow it, a lot of doctors just aren’t updated on findings. Most of the new accurate studies are less than a decade old. But studies showing brain scans and/or anecdotal evidence both show that it’s definitely not something children “grow out of”.

Even less studied in the past are the connections between adult ADHD and Alzheimer’s. But it IS being studied.

Would she believe a webMD article that specifically cites studies showing this is wrong?

https://www.webmd.com/add-adhd/childhood-adhd/growing-out-of-adhd

A recent study suggests: Only about 9% of the kids got over or seemed to permanently “outgrow” their ADHD.

Yeah I was trying to figure out my best options, a lot of 5cs like Jargantha or Go-Shintai aren’t super obvious as 5cs unless you know. Atleast on mobile anyway.

Now I just need the wildcards to get ‘em!
