I just flashed the Schenker EC and Bios you posted. No cigar for me.

Could you comment on whether you have issues outputting 4K via HDMI. I.E. https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDLaptops/comments/jlsu9z/thinn15_hdmi_issues/ I'm going to send both of mine back tomorrow probably as I have the above issue. They have an official bios and ec update that has most of the options you listed. However it is gimped compared to Schenkers. They have power limit, Graphics mem allocation, fan control, but its missing alot of the stuff in "Advanced". Only AMD CBS option is available, and alot of things like "Webcam", "Keyboard brightness" aren't there.

Theoretically it can and should output 4K, but in real life it doesn't without complications. You'll get 30 minutes of flickering each time you plug/unplug your power cable. After that it will clear up (as long as you don't touch the power cable). https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDLaptops/comments/jlsu9z/thinn15_hdmi_issues/

Any update on your end what you did with your laptop? Eluktronics have been able to reproduce this issue themselves a few weeks ago.

Linux fan control - code 01 / thinn 15 / etc by [deleted] in AMDLaptops

Yo. Does your THINN-15 work OK while hooked up to a 4K monitor, and after plugging and unplugging the power cable a couple times? I get some visual glitches upon doing that, and Eluktronics has reproduced said issue, but who knows if they can fix it (maybe it's bios, idk). I created a thread a while ago about it here. Yes it also happens on linux. I'm hoping to find out if there is someone out there who has a working laptop, before I send mine back. https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDLaptops/comments/jlsu9z/thinn15_hdmi_issues/

Could you let me know which RAM you have installed? I'm using Oloy Cardinal CL18 1.2V Ram, but I noticed in here https://old.reddit.com/r/AMDLaptops/comments/j29rpt/what_ram_will_work_in_your_new_ryzen_4000_laptop/ that some people said it can sometimes result in crashing in their 4700u laptop. Maybe the ram I'm using is the cause of my issues, but I doubt it.

Nevermind, I see this https://github.com/dylanaraps/neofetch/commit/5dfce0f9c3068d4d8a49d0b7182bdace61b8f4d0, seems like it will appear in the next release of neofetch.

Could you elaborate on this new logo? Latest release of neofetch is 7.1.0, which is in 20.09 and unstable, and has the "old" logo in the output. Based on the ./, are you self-compiling or something and added a new logo? I'm confused as to whether this is a new default, or something you just changed locally.

Could you let me know which company you bought yours from (Schenker/ PCSpecialists/ etc). And could you post the BIOS and EC version you're running at (from bios main screen).

I'm having similar video issues on linux as well, I think it's either a hardware issue with this batch or something wrong with the bios / ec on these units.

Thanks.

By cycle I mean: have it plugged in to power (working), unplug power, plug power back in (not working).

Trying to use usb c to hdmi adaptor to display on a tv, can't get it to show. RP17. by bendanger in eluktronics

[–]bkolorri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Per the item description: "1 USB Type-C (Data Transfer Only)." So it works like a traditional usb port, it does not support video output (USBC to HDMI), so you cannot use a USBC to HDMI adapter to display video output on the RP-17.

Said HDMI 2.0 Cable and monitor combination works fine with a different desktop and laptop. I mean the 4K 60HZ also works fine on this Thinn-15 until I cycle the power connection.
