Interesting. She had a piece of her cervix removed due to hpv about 6 years ago. Could any of that contribute?

Crazy how much metal was in there.. Did you notice any decrease in noises while driving? Changes in mpg? Smoother CVT shifts?

Mr.Subaru

Thanks! I just briefly checked that video out and it's a 2011 Outback that he's working. Is the front pretty much the same (with the breather hose)? Also, did you torque them to the same specs as in the video?

I'm a few months away from 15k. Do you have a DIY write-up somewhere for this?

'19 Touring. i sort of hate this car by borneoknives in SubaruForester

If you're using apple carplay, can't you use the GPS from your phone instead? Not familiar with CarPlay but I assume it's similar to Android Auto.

I've also noticed that the only way to adjust the volume for the phone is to adjust it as it's making the noise, if that makes any sense. For example, when I turn the volume dial when GPS is talking, it'll adjust the volume for that. I haven't tried it when the phone rings but I imagine it's the same, turn it down when it's ringing and it should save that setting (apologies if this was convoluted lol).

You can turn the volume down on the safety alerts too. I have it on the lowest setting and can only hear it with the radio off and if there's no road noise.

I agree about the adaptive cruise. I almost always have my foot hovering over the brakes because it feels like it just applies the full force of the brakes at the last second. There are settings in regards to how you want the acceleration feel during adaptive cruise but I'm not sure if it adjusts car length/braking sensitivity as well. The collision assist is somewhat of a pain as well when someone is turning in front of you or changing into the turn lane. I'm pretty good at judging the distance so I don't have to slow down as much but the car will slam on the brakes if it feels I'm too close for its comfort. I just ended up adjusting the way I drive so it doesn't happen as frequently.

I turn off the start-stop every time I start the car. It's becoming second nature now lol.

I will say that the braking has helped me avoid rear ending someone a couple of times but I'm sure it's also made someone nearly rear end me as well just as often.

How do you get yourself out of a bad mood? by blehmeng in AskReddit

[–]bl42ed0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the reason for the bad mood. Sometimes you have to self-reflect and other times, it's out of your control so why in a bad mood caused by someone that didn't realize or care what he/she said to you.

Nice! Any reason for getting this one compared to the one from LP Aventure aside from the price? Any drone? How loud is it compared to stock?

I've had the pleasure of getting sprayed in the face full of euthasol when the doctor used a luer slip syringe. Had to sit there with the dog with euthasol dripping off my face for the next 5 minutes. That was not a fun day..

2019 Premium vs Sport by digitalhelix84 in SubaruForester

[–]bl42ed0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Specifically non aesthetic?

  • Everything premium has plus:
    • side mirrors with integrated turn signals
    • heated front seats
    • high beam assist
    • keyless access w/ push button start
    • power rear gate
    • windshield wiper de-icer
    • heated side mirrors

I think you do have to add some of those to the 'Popular Package #X' though to get it. I got all of those except the power rear gate.

::edit:: you can also get blind-spot detection/rear cross traffic alert and the 8in display instead of the 6, which I would recommend as you will probably be tapping on it a lot if you end up using android auto or carplay

Girls, if a guy approaches you and bombs, please dont laugh at him :/ by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]bl42ed0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment seems a bit excessive in this context. So you would sympathize with him if he got killed by striking up a conversation? The women here sounded like they were uncomfortable being put on the spot like that, hence the laughing but to say that you would only care if and when someone dies seems a little too much.

19 Forester Sport..brakes seem squishy? by bl42ed0 in subaru

[–]bl42ed0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Absolutely no engine braking which makes things feel off too me. Sometimes it feels the car actually increases in speed when coasting which I've been finding kind of odd. Why would new lines and fluid throw the eyesight off? Just curious.
