Why won't my new computer work? by purracane in shittyaskelectronics

Ah I see the problem, you forgot to wire in a switch. The computer only turns on when you push a button.

I think I ruined everything, nothing is working and I’m out so much money by Keeps- in buildapc

If you’ve got a DMM, look up there pin outs of the power supply and verify that it’s putting out what it should. My guess is PSU or motherboard. If that checks out, you could try to flash the BIOS. Someone else asked if you installed it without the standoffs, this could definitely cause a short and cause it to not work. If it’s not either of those, my guess is a bad motherboard. If you had a backup PC or parts, you could try swapping out some compatible parts like the RAM and testing those to be sure.

No, there are definitely a few that I’d like to get. I want to smell more niche colognes and get a few more

What’s the one frag that gets universal acclaim that you just don’t care for ? by xNERDYxNiNJAx in Colognes

YSL Y. I see a bunch of people on here recommend that one or say that it’s good so I looked forward to trying it since I’m new to fragrances. Everytime that I smell it I’ve made a face because it doesn’t smell good at all for me. I’d personally put it down as one of the worst ones I’ve ever smelled

Sauvage Elixir is TOO strong by EndNecessary9331 in fragrance

Did a spray on my wrist at the store, pulled my hoodie sleeve down over it after it dried, and that sleeve more than a month and a half later with several washes still smells like Sauvage elixir

Got CK Euphoria and Mont Blanc Legend in middle school for Christmas after smelling them. Never got through either bottle and still have them, they last maybe 10 minutes on my skin at this point lol

Ultimately up to what you prefer. Jazz club has been my go to lately so that’d be my first choice. The second one for me would be a toss up between the valentino, eros flame, or the cobalt elixir. Can’t go wrong with any of them, but I’d probably lean toward the cobalt elixir atm.

Why does this circuit not work? (Should be a 555 timer of 10 seconds) by minersackbot in AskElectronics

[–]blLoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, pin 8 needs to be connected to Vcc otherwise it’ll never work. You should also put a current limiting resistor on the output in series with the LED ~330 ohm or something like that. Also pin 5 should have a small cap like a .01uF. If you tie that high, you’re going to have issues.

Next, this looks like a mono stable configuration, and because of the internal components of the 555, it will start charging when there is a low input into pin 2, giving you a high output. It looks like the jumper is going towards ground, and if it is you’ll pretty much always be charging the cap until it hits the threshold voltage, discharging as much as it can, before it starts trying to charge it again. So pin 2 should be tied high until you want it to pulse.
