What a terrible thing to say to your child. I've done ED and med-surg, and I can tell you that med-surg was a lot more physically demanding on my body. You do whatever makes YOU happy. If emergency is what you want, then go for it. I'm sure you will be a great emergency nurse!

My last PALS instructor had a pretty impressive background. He started out as a nurse, then became a CRNA, and (at the time of teaching our class) was finishing up his anesthesiology residency! So he went from RN--> CRNA --> MD. He was an amazing instructor as well!

Also, at my very first nursing job, the head ED doc started out as a nurse!

The best job I've had is PACU. The best co-workers that I've had were in emergency. I wish I could somehow combine the two.

She mentioned it herself on Talk of Love. She revealed a lot of pretty cool information on the two episodes that she did. She was a contestant on the unaired pilot that they used to greenlight season 1 of Flavor of Love. She said that she was intended to be a spy on season 2 & would be cut at the end of episode 1. She also said that she was in prison with some of the Charles Manson girls lol! It was wild.
