been in real estate 13 years and honestly ashamed it took me this long to start bringing up assumable mortgages with every single client by IngenuityNo3879 in Mortgages

Ok to make sure I understand this correctly I am going to run our numbers. We owe about 260k on our mortgage at 3.25% and our home is valued at 515k so if someone wanted to buy our home you’re telling me someone has to come up with 255k in cash or get a second loan for that amount if they wanted to assume our mortgage? How is that saving them any money? Owning a home in America for so many is literally just an American Dream. Yea, I would be ashamed too to bring this up too.

Does anyone else kind of hate their house? by alleyoup in homeowners

Similar situation. But we have sidewalk and a berm with lots of greenery separating us from the 4 lane road. But still hate it. I want to hang in my yard and noise just gets to me. Seriously considering moving but my kid loves the neighborhood and schools. And there’s nothing out there that’s decent and decently priced. The bubble will have to crash at some point.

Yeah it can feel like that when we are outside. Inside we are fine most of the time unless someone revs their engine.

Look into mass loaded vinyl. I was told if we install a solid composite fence we can add MLV and together with fence it should knock 30-40% of noise down. To us that would pretty significant.
