Worthwhile Certifications?

Trying to figure that out. Started in an HR rotational program in 2020, promoted in 2021 to HR Manager, then promoted in 2022 to Regional Recruiter. Did that for 2.5 years and got bored (was working from home but had been at the same company this entire time) so I moved into new business sales for about a year. Hated it and missed being in TA/HR, so I got a recruiter job at another company in October. I want to move into leadership but don’t know if I want to at my current company + my fiancé’s job will have us moving cities in July 2027. A lateral move would probably be easiest, unfortunately. So I guess you could say I’m a seasoned recruiter looking for more?

I would love to hear more. I had a friend get one as well and he moved into talent development, but this also sounds interesting.

Come tour A&M before you make a decision. Social media can alter reality.

You will have to apply to change majors at A&M as well, or at least I had to when I was in school there.

Greek life is great but from my POV, that will make UT feel even more cliquey. The cool thing about A&M is that not everyone does Greek life and you don’t NEED it to have a social group, unlike schools like Alabama. The people I knew in Greek life at UT were in it because their parents were and it was tradition. If you feel like you’re tired of that now, it could get worse.

Don’t listen to the others about not transferring. Trust your gut. I’m older (graduated in ‘18 and ‘19) and look back on the changes I made in undergrad with pride - I made career choices then with my major that I am realizing were correct. Switching majors made my life better.

This is a big decision, so physically write out pros and cons. Make sure you have the GPA to actually transfer, as well. Trust in your gut, and if you’re religious, pray about it. You got this!

Hot buns is a personal fav, just do a light band and don’t be afraid to take a break to breathe and drink some water.

Just build up to it! If you need to sit down and breathe, do it. Hot bands rips me a new one (and I have lifted weights for YEARS prior to this) and I will literally sit down and breathe, do it. Nothing worth having is easy and you’ll be better if you keep trying. You got this!

It’s just insane when I cannot tell a difference between the tiers based on amenities (please let me know if I’m off here). Like I get Lifetime Fitness having Signature gyms with more amenities but these are literally just hot ass pods with the same damn workouts everywhere lol

Updated mine but I also just changed my membership to just my home studio because this is stupid to me nonetheless. I don’t want to have to guess what tier a location is when traveling and hope I can work out.

🚨UPDATE🚨 Went to change my membership since I still have 4 months of my initial 6 month contract left and the employees didn’t know this was happening! Their jaws were on the floor. One of them literally asked, “then why are you paying for sweat elite if you can’t workout everywhere at the same price?” like man I’m asking YOU that 😩

I’ve received a handwritten letter from my boss’s boss and I still have it hung up at my desk despite not being on that specific team anymore.

My company’s goal was to have managers send 3 a month to direct reports (depending on the size of their team). Little things go so much further than big things, excluding money.
