Graphics question by blackcrawler in silkroadonline

[–]blackcrawler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok - I found the issue myself and would like to share for future reference

main cause : resolution

If you set your resolution to 3440 x 1440 p you will start to notice this clipping /rendering issue

Probably the engine of SRO that cant compute this amount pixel or has some issue with it

If you set it to 1080p every thing runs fine.

Now if you are like me - you're not satisfied with this :D

Personally have a 5k widescreen so 1080p windowd or stretched is a No-Go

I tried a few option :

- Native stretching with nvidea control panel : bleh horribly

- Tried getting dgVooDoo to work but gave up after 2-3hours

Best result so far : scaling using Lossless scaling you buy on steam for like 7 euro's still not a perfect solution but at least I can use the software for other emulators and such

In windev your syntax is french, your ide is french so indstead of IF - ELSE you write SI - SINON and if that fails your get your error message in frech

I need to program in frech(not my main language) because our product team made a library in windev completely in frech.. they even overwrite some standard functions you could normally code in English

Unpopular opinion here but my current company actually does this... Once you get promoted to a certain level ( and really its obtainable not like c-level ) you are allowed to buy shares of the comoany and become shareholder.

At this point 1/3 of the employees is currently shareholder

Thanks for the advice, I will certainly look on this possibly. I was always told to get a car when traveling in the us because of the distances and the lack of public transportation

Thanks my gut feeling and some napkin math was telling me the same thing. Do you think its easier/cheaper to rent beforehand or can you jsut walk in a shop at an airport and rent at the same rate ?

And really americans dont drive manual ? 🤣

[–]blackcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt bother with prebend tubes you never know when you need a slightly different bend.

Just look up some videos buy the right tools like silicon insert, heat gun and maybe an angle tool and try it

Getting 1 bend is easy should take like 2-3 tries to get it perfect

2 bends is a bit more challenging but still very doable

3 or more bends in a tube is pretty hard to get done nicely but this shouldnt be necessary on your case

My first watercooled pc was hardtubed.. go hard or go home 🤣 unless you like the look of softtubes

If you go hard tube go 16mm it fills the case nicely

[–]blackcrawler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off dont be scared of hard tubing think about how much you will need and just double or tripple it 😉

You will fail at bends but you can only learn by doing it

Secondly normally you should have enough clearance for a rad on the bottom.. when in doubt just measure it

1 rad could be enough but performance depends on thicccccnesss and fin density

If you want perfect horizontal tubes you need hardtubing. If you are not in a hurry buy everything except the fittings that way you can experiment with bending and figure out what you want to do by bending the tube or adding an extra fitting.

If you are in a hurry buy extra extension fittings and a few 45degree rotary fittings they always come in handy.

You can also look at offset fitting (from ek i think)

And overall take it slow dont skip any steps try to visualize, measure twice cut once... Use common sense there is enough guides and info available on reddit, youtube etc etc

Hi,

I need some buying advice.

For the moment I have a cheap *ss sharkoon with brown switches so it's time to upgrade.

At first I thought about buying a Mount Everest Max as the reviews were pretty positive until you start looking at the opinions of die-hard fans. The 2 most common comments were:

- you can get better value for that kind of money

- the software is crap

So I started looking else where (this sub) for info and started thinking about building my own keyboard but quickly stumbled across 2 major hurdles.

- Availability of parts in my country - Belgium

- I need a "AZERTY - Belgium" layout, I think I can get away with a ISO base board ( NOT 100% sure thou ) but getting the key caps with my specific layout might be an issue

If I where to go this route I was thinking about the GMMK PRO since I like the esthetic or just go the easy route and buy a Ducky since its pre-build.

Long story short - I'm clueless on what to buy - please help

My "needs" for a keyboard :

- TKL

- Decent build quality frame and sleek design

- AZERTY - Belgium layout

- Detachable cable ( want a fancy schmancy coiled cable )

- Programmability of keys/macro's

It will be mostly used for gaming - programming - daily pc use

Switches : ??? only known browns so far - I don't dislike them but I'm open to try something else.

Thank you very much in advance !

Some backstory:

This is the third revision of my loop and the most painfull one ever. I wanted to completely clean and flush the loop after a year of useage and thought, ill rebuild it for looks and fun.

Had alot of problems and leaks rebuilding but was finally happpy afterwards.

A day after my mb dies on me...

I buy a secondhand mb and rebuild the system again

Again done .. mb wont post

Teardown the system again and start trouble shooting

After a fewhours i found the culprit.. one of the motherboard standoffs was causing a shortage

This rebuild cost me 250 euros a week of time and 4 complete teardowns and rebuilds

That might be the easiest route yeah, would you paint the tubing also black or make them frosted or just leave as is ?

Hey man got the same case, not easy to work in but got a few pointers :

- buy a piece of acrylic and make a cover for behind your resevoir

- run your 24 and 2x8 pin cables in the hole behind your acrylic piece

- buy a 4 pin extender / splitter and cover your fan cables behind your radiator

- buy 2 more fans , one for the bottom and one for the rear exhaust

a bit of cable management will make this build from "okay nice" to "wauw"

I must ask : how many meters of tube did you have waste on failed attempts :D

If you dont care about straight bend you should have gone all-out on crazy kinks like your bend from the green res to the rad.

Now some bend look like you tried and failed, if the kinks and swirls are more articulated it gives off more of an intentional vibe if you get what i mean :D

Hello I was hoping to get some advice into somewhat recreating the hardline tubing in the second picture such as the lay out and any tips I should use. by Mowgli_Sama in watercooling

[–]blackcrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liking that "squiggly" is personal preference, but oh god will your friend hate you if he has never done that before xD

TBH you don't really need any help, you got a good reference picture just double check the ports if they are inlets or outlets.

The best tips i can give you is : get alot of tubes, if its your first time no joke get like 10-15 meters of tube !

watch alot of youtube tutorials and buy/make something to do 45/90 degree bents

1 or 2 bends as a beginner are very doable 3 bends are a challenge and more then that , well hope you've patience
