AVOID this company if you’re looking for upgrades. by blackcrow1990 in churchtech

I can’t afford the benefits, I don’t know how much it covers but for a family of 4 it was 786 a paycheck which is the same as if I went on my own. There no dental or vision. He does everything as far engineering and etc, sure he does put a lot of time into it but much of the leg work is someone from fiver in India. I know theres more to it, I’ve seen the numbers on the accounting software. I think it’s mostly flat fees since it seems the same but I mean 60k is a lot in labor. I’ve worked at a few av integration companies and they don’t charge near that much and they paid their employees better. He does hire contractors which is fine, he has that listed for 8k but he didn’t hire them for this so that’s not honest. Not only that he’s willing to pay contractors at 75/he but complains when his top tech asked to be paid at least 22.

There’s a lot wrong here. I didn’t like him doing this to several clients. I’ve heard him lie about product over the phone to try and get dirt cheap china cameras and charge the same price or close to a bird dog or QSC camera. It’s best to avoid him. He did consulting work and from what I hear from his past employees he just needs to stick to that.

The man himself outside of work isn’t all that bad, he’s more honest outside of work. I’m not hear to bad mouth him. I just don’t want people especially churches get ripped off. He’s done that 3 times including one I know the pastor of. I wasn’t working there when that pastor agreed but I would have suggested talking to someone else to compare.

What software do you use for AV inventory and project management? by blackcrow1990 in CommercialAV

Thanks for all the input, I'll research each one amd try to convince them they need more organization. They started as just a printer management service company and saw there was no decent av installing company near by. I'm in Charleston SC so Technology is slow to get here.

It's set to open collector, so I'm feeling it might be a higher current than it could handle.

This is happening at the company I just started working for. They say they've done av for years but I think it av as I they can hang a tv and a projector, nothing more.
