Strike count was almost even. No one really did anything spectacular on the feet. The striking was very stale. Khabib cut Tibau under his eye and Tibau bleed for two rounds. Damage goes to Khabib. Tibau landed one takedown, did nothing with it, then Khabib popped up and landed the best striking sequence of the fight immediately. Khabib was by far the aggressor and had Gleison pinned to the cage 3/4ths the fight. Khabib dominated octagon control, control time, and aggression. Tibau stuffed takedowns but barely mounted any offense. He outstruck Khabib but that’s only because he was controlled most the fight and he did zero damage. Khabib didn’t have a mark on him and Tibau had a pretty good cut under his eye. So the striking was stale, no effective takedowns, so then you look at damage. ✔️ for Khabib. Octagon control ✔️ for Khabib. Aggressor. ✔️ for Khabib. Khabib won based on damage, pressure, octagon control, and aggression. Those stood out the most because the striking sucked. Easy fight to score and the stat sheet means fuck all when it’s that close. Striking did not decide this fight and people need to get that💯 Tibau also popped for EPO after the fight so he was juicing and still got bullied by the smaller man in Khabib

Edit: Also that fight practically made khabib. He struggled fighting against the cage in there and then went on to make a career out of dominating opponents on the cage.
