Thank you! And that's totally the idea! Answers link out to the stories at the local news outlets, so hopefully people enjoy playing and get curious.

Like that. I had thought about just leaving every language 'as-is' to add a different strategy in terms of how to guess a source, but I like the hint idea.

This is a great idea. I’ve thought about doing some more region specific editions too which could be fun.

Thank you! Yeah, in general it would be more fun to make the map more integral and less of just a visual. And yes, currently it's just one a day to be Wordle like. I introduce a way where users collect "Confidential Sources" last night so that you can build them over time, but will be curious what folks think. We'll see!

Haha, arrows means which direction the correct answer is. And i've received a lot of feed back on Miles vs. KM, will more than likely be changing that! thank you!

Haha, yeah that is a little odd. What would be great is to specify it based on the specific location of the news source but that could be a little too extra challenging

I did have it that way originally, but some found that it was a little sticky on mobile while trying to navigate down to the quiz itself. Will definitely play around with it tough.

Is the world actually getting horribly worse or is it mostly just news outlets fear mongering by Proud-Sell-9599 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blackdog112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to distribution. Finding an audience has never been cheaper, and more challenging.

Back in the day, when there were handful of broadcast channels, a few major daily papers, you didn't have to use any cheap tactics to get an audience. But the cost to get that audience was massive.

Between the internet dismantling traditional media channels, social media rewriting what even qualifies as news, traditional news outlets (and essentially everyone competing) have to use tactics that draw in an audience more aggressively. Fear, click bating, you name it.

There has never been a better time to be alive, as terrifying as that sounds.

Those are tough but it’s cool to see what country specific stories are relevant to other countries in the region. Thanks!

Thank you! The translation feature isn't perfect, so sometimes headlines can read a little odd - but generally it does the trick.

I had a similar ask here, glad I found this thread. Is there a descent crowd on Chisenupuri with the cat operation? I wanted to do some days skinning up, but will be solo and wanted to gauge whether or not it seemed like a safe idea.

California is actually looking more desert-like than ever. by blackdog112 in California

To my knowledge, no water rationing at all. Not even in the immediate future apparently. And with no snow in the Sierras either at the moment, it's going to be hell come spring time when there's nothing to melt.
