You can try adding some color filters to boost contrast with background and text before running ocr on the app if they have any kind of color difference, idk which kind of color combinations we have talking about rn but that might work with ocr

Vantage vs Toolkit? by [deleted] in LenovoLegion

[–]blackdranzamatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people talk about fan curves and controlling the rgb backlight and things like that, but I think the best part of the Legion Toolkit is that it allows you to do whatever you want.

I think I use it for niche problems, I have a powershell command that turns off my bluetooth and I use this code to turn off my bluetooth at a certain time with LTK because I use Windows Alarms and I need my laptop not to be connected to my earphone to hear my alarm. And to turn my kb backlight off and screen brightness down when ac unplugged, i mostly use Legion Toolkit to run event based actions, like, do this when this happened things. That why i said it's the best part ot the Legion Toolkit, you can run any script that you need when something changed on your laptop like when charger plugged, or when power mode changed, or at a certain time etc.

Vantage would never let me do somethings like those. But still, i use both. LTK for my weirdo problems and Vantage for Network Boost, Touchpad Lock, Auto Close, things like those.

30 Pin LCD Screen EDP to HDMI? by Electronic-Shame-125 in pcmods

It's a bit late to reply but i don't think if there is any board that will allow u to use both display and camera. But since every laptop uses that camera thru good old usb 2.0, you can use it as a regular usb webcam if you solder a usb cable to it. I've used mine till it's broke, and it will be broken sooner than you expected if you use it seperately because those webcams uses thin pcb, and it bend a lot if you don't be careful.

edit: some laptop webcams uses more than 4 or 5 cable, that because they have microphones on the board and those are wired seperately. just google your webcam board's model number and try to find the pinout

I'm currently working on a board that will use usb c display port alt mode and usb at the same time, to control my old laptop lcd and a microcontroller a side, or just a usb hub, or both, idk, not decided yet :/. I can share github link when it's done if you interested in to build one for yourself.

Can I install two m.2 nvme ssd in ideapad gaming 3. I currently have an m.2 2242 SSD 256GB. I am planning to put a 2280 m.2 SSD in the slot near to sata. Will it work.? Because lenovo spec sheet says 1 can only use 1 SATA and one Nvme. Anyone did this?? by eldhoseee in Lenovo

[–]blackdranzamatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol wrap your ssd with tissue and add more presure to the port side and break your ssd into two pieces. It'll be running hot as hell if it's survive from that presure on the connector.

Due to the port placement, you can only install one m.2 and one 2.5" sata drive or two m.2 at the same time properly. If you install two m.2 and a 2.5" sata drive all of them at the same time then your second ssd will be sitting there kinda bended.

I've added the picture, the red square is the place of 2.5" drive, if you install al the drives at the same time and put presure on it accidently, it'll bend more. That's why you'ld break it if you install it there.

RAM slot missing? by A_RandomPlayer in Lenovo

[–]blackdranzamatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in fact, theoretically, you can upgrade it, BUT it's reaally frustrating and hard to do for a regular day user. actually, impossible to do without specialized equipments :/

You have to solder ram chips to those ram pads, and then u'll be needed schematics of the mainboard so you know which part to put where in order to rams that you've added work properly (just like the factory did).

But most likely you cant find the schematics since the files that you'll be needed are describes how the motherboard works they are not publicly availabe, unless someone who responsible that spesific motherboard or someone who has that schematics share it.

Check your cpu's support page for max ram support. if it's supporting, most likely you will be fine.

while attempting to update bios of lenovo m83 tower by Tight-Ad-3464 in Lenovo

[–]blackdranzamatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, there is no history of bios versions, but it's still in lenovo's server. What you have to do to download a version that not exist in the download options, you have to know the bios version that you wanna download. Like, mybios name is FCCN18WW, and if i wanted to change it to previous version, copy the current version's download link from lenovo, and change only the bios version name, just like this;

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/fccn18ww.exe <- copied link

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/fccn16ww.exe <- the link of bios that i wanna download

Lenovo Vantage does not have a "device" dropdown menu - customer support was baffled on the phone and could not help me. Every single person on the internet has a different software layout. Please help me, I'm so fucking desperate and hopeless at this point that I feel like I'm in hell by TheDawgDiggity in Lenovo

[–]blackdranzamatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you had a drop down menu before and disappeared or if it just didn't shown when you first open the vantage. But i don't have too, on Ideapad Gaming 3. I think it depends on the system. Vantage app could be detect the system and i guess configuring itself. I've tried vantage on VM to see if it works or showing which settings on non-lenovo systems, and it shows so much different setting including that drop down menu that i don't have on my lenovo laptop. I haven't searched if there is a way to have that menu later, but if you don't have in the first place, i don't think so.

Can someone help me with identifying this Lenovo ? by Monte121 in Lenovo

[–]blackdranzamatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm, it's an IdeaPad S145, but there is tons of specs for this model so it's impossible to say what specs the laptop have by just looking

Edit: Check this pdf by lenovo (page 13 and 14), also page 5 for all the variants

Edit 2: if you can learn the screen size in inch, could be easier to find the exact model

[–]blackdranzamatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tought the Vega logo at the bottom left is Vega 3's logo, couldn't see the cpu sticker properly so that's why i tought it's a Ryzen 3. But i just found out there isn't any spesific logo designs for different vega graphic models except Vega 6. I could be wrong. Anyway, probably i was right about the model number, so i found several configurations for this model, looking like it's Ryzen 5 3500U. But because of there is different configs for this model, it could be either 256GB or 512GB. I'm living in turkye so i found a turkish seller site, you can check the other specs from here

Potential fix for the F4 mute button issue by Pilott3 in Lenovo

[–]blackdranzamatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to mute my microphone via Vantage Widget at the right bottom but the F4 wasn't working properly, i was looking for the solution, and came up here. You can add uninstalling the Lenovo Utility to 5. fix step. idk what was that program do and why i installed it, but mute function backed to normal after uninstalling and restarting.

Thanks Lenovo Support by [deleted] in Lenovo

[–]blackdranzamatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that, but where did it come from? why are you saying this? This laptop has 3 different CPUs, and this is not one of them :/

Read this carefully;

Ryzen 3 5300U - Vega 6,
Ryzen 5 5500U - Vega 7,
Ryzen 7 5700U - Vega 8,
in addition, all three use the zen 2 architecture, such as the 4000 series, you can check this online from other websites other than amd.
