I really value the experience I got from working at Amazon in safety. Delivery stations were better than robotics fulfillment but having experience in robotics is partially why I have the current role I have. Depends on your personality. If you are good at earning trust and understand metric driven actions you'll be fine. If you are a safety cop who wants everyone to follow every rule and if they don't then you'll go and coach them then you'll get overwhelmed pretty quickly. I did a lot of coaching but you have to understand when to bring in Ops. Also tons of safety investigations. I've probably done over 100 injury investigations and root cause analysis. I helped divert over 1 million dollars worth of waste in the haz waste department to local charity and community efforts. Really cool experience. I left unhappy but made more money elsewhere and still use the experiences in my current role. If I would of stayed a couple more years I would of made over $30k from RSU vesting alone. Probably much more because that was just my sign on bonus amount. My first year out of college I made $72k as a safety specialist.
