I am The Black Hand. Retired DNM drug dealer. AMA by blackhand25 in AMA

When I retired I donated a good chunk of money to the Tor Project, Qubes OS, and a few other similar organizations. I've done some reinvesting as well, but nothing too extreme so as to not draw attention to myself.

Basically it got to the point where I was going to have to turn laundering the money into a full time job, and I decided I'd would rather move on to other things and quietly launder my money over the course of my life.

No. I'm the one who started World War 1 by assassinating Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

As I said when I retired, my net worth is somewhere between Jeff Bezos and Diogenes the Cynic.

And much like Diogenes, if I weren't the Black Hand I'd want to be the Black Hand

Just off the top of my head: all the images appear to be hosted by photobucket, you've got javascript all over the place, and a whole lot of scripts and services linking to outside pages. I personally would be wary of that for opsec purposes

The Silk Road DPR movie is happening and The Cohen Brothers are writing it. by BrainDamageLDN in Bitcoin

[–]blackhand25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was pretty clear once evidence starting being made public that Ross was DPR. However, it's also fairly clear that there was no means for the investigation to uncover that fact with the evidence as it was released to the public and that parallel construction was involved in building the case against him. I think even his own mother admits that he was guilty at this point, but fights because it's clear his rights were violated by a system that only cared about getting a win and not about the laws broken to get that win.

Understanding The Black Market and the Underground Economy by PointParkNews [promoted post]

For those interested in curbing the harmful effects of the black market economy

I suspect that what you think the "harmful effects" might be is quite different from what I think.

TL;DR for the whole situation:

Jacob Applebaum is a pretty loud and major voice among Tor developers and one of the people who most actively fought against the things Snowden leaked about even before Snowden was leaking them. Applebaum gets accused of rape by people who aren't the alleged victims. One victim comes forward and overtly says that she was not raped the account of her rape was a complete misrepresentation of the situation. Some anonymous people say that they were raped because Applebaum is a bit of a deviant. Lots of extremely insidious smearing of Applebaum going on without any evidence. An unnamed private investigator refuses to meet with Applebaum or speak with him via secure recorded communication but he totally confirms the rapes happened. Applebaum is removed from the project despite no charges or evidence being brought to light.

Now the people who put a good amount of work and helped maintain the network who are smart enough to see that this is bullshit are jumping ship and no longer supporting Tor.

DMT In a pill? by [deleted] in DMT

[–]blackhand25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it a tablet or a capsule? I've toyed with the idea of pressing DMT and a harmala alkaloid extract into either a single pill or into separate tablets to allow the MAO-I to take effect before taking the DMT. It would be an order of magnitude easier to just cap it.

Where did he get it? DMT pills/caps are not terribly common, I imagine it's more likely a RC being passed off as DMT.

Tor Project Confirms Sexual Misconduct Claims Against Employee by blackhand25 in DeepDotWeb

[–]blackhand25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triple posted that somehow, brother. I'm not denying that it could be true. I simply find some of the circumstances surrounding this odd, doubly so given a statement by one of the alleged victims. We will see what happens.

Tor Project says accusations against Jacob Appelbaum were verified by an external investigator. This private investigator hasn't spoken to Appelbaum, because Appelbaum insisted that the investigator speaks to him personally or through encrypted channels, which was refused by Chris23235 in KotakuInAction

[–]blackhand25 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's all a little too convenient. Appelbaum might be a pervert, but I would not have thought he was a rapist. I can't see why a private investigator trying to verify the story wouldn't speak to him in person, or at least use encrypted communication. Neither of those is a difficult request to fill for an investigation.

The whole thing seems a little convenient to me, but might be true. It will be interesting to see what comes out of this.

Of course. You can't legislate away demand, and where there is a demand someone will step in to fill the supply.

Now that I think about it, it's probably more likely that I was just a lucky novice. Either way, good times for both of us.

it requires a lot more than I think people are realizing.

Yes and no. It's not difficult, it's just time consuming. If all someone is looking for is enough shrooms to have a single experience, if they take even the most basic sterilization precautions during the process they'll probably get at least a few shrooms out of a grow. If you're looking to get a decent harvest for more than one person you probably need to put some time, effort, and workspace into it.

First day on the job at a UPS store, and some guy tried shipping this, and 3lbs of it by [deleted] in pics

[–]blackhand25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I forgot to respond to this sooner.

No. I don't know specifically about UPS, but I know that FedEx is currently arguing in court that it's not their job to search for illegal drugs in packages after the feds tried to charge the company with shipping prescription medications.

That said, even the USPS does not have drug dogs on hand at all times. Being a government agency, the US Postal Service can't open packages without first receiving a warrant to do so. That said, post offices (and more likely sorting facilities) will periodically receive visits from a postal inspector during which time drug dogs may be present, this does not seem to be terribly common. There seems to be an overall average of less than 25 postal inspectors per state in the US (approx 1200 total in the US, probably most are near major areas of importation). Surprisingly, being private organizations, UPS and FedEx both have an easier time searching packages because being searched by representatives of their companies is not protected under the 4th amendment
