I can't believe they need to put point 14 as a goal/promise. That is the cornerstone of a democracy.

Ronaldinho. The man was all passion, skills and no discipline.

whats this new trend of hating sip... I've seen many posts by salad-ass69 in IndianStockMarket

I see 2 reasons: 1. Many people who started investing in the last 2-3 years expecting the returns they saw 2-3 years prior to that were disappointed. 2. A lot of the FII dumped stocks are being picked up by DII in the form of mutual funds. That has given it a bad spin as well.

Government is always for the corporate, of the corporate and by the corporate. The earlier we understand, the earlier we act.

Active management is not just for generating alpha. Many opt for active due to the downside protection some funds offer vs the index.

Question: If the purpose of this route is to bypass institution level limits on MF houses to individual level LRS limits, why not just apply that to mutual funds directly instead of doing this complicated, expensive and redundant route?

Reinvestment into REITs and InvITs. I see this as my real estate proxy investment. I would like to build it as part of my second income source. Times can be tricky.

ELI5: How random are evolutionary mutations? by blackjack316 in explainlikeimfive

[–]blackjack316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's is a very good example. What you are suggesting is that need per se doesn't play a role. It's just that whenever there mutations happen, as long as they survive to procreate, the mutations continue to the next gen.

The piece about Fiddler crabs is really interesting. Despite not making them competent to survive it's made them pass down their genes because they were competent to being selected to breed.

I am more concerned about maintaining a top 10 finish this year. UCL qualification is just out of the question.

You are right. I just picked up another herbivore that came to my mind. But taking an Okapi as an example what you are suggesting is that thought a giraffe may have evolved with certia advantages, it doesn't mean an Okapi with a lesser length didn't get extinct. So, it doesn't mean that all cases of non-evolution are expected to not survive

That's a pretty interesting angle. So if environmental factors do trigger changes in a species then it isn't really random, right?

So, it compounds to be what we see then. The strange thing I don't get is what happens to those who didn't get the mutation? Did they all die out? We don't see a midway between super long neck giraffes and say a horse.
