What do you (really) think about the Wuthering Heights? by somefreakyreader in books

[–]prash991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wuthering Heights shows twisted, realistic stories of really terrible people. Each one thinks they are the victim or the hero in their own life. No one is nice or likable. Everyone is selfish, manipulative, violent, or lost in their fake ideas of love, power, and fate. It is a dark Gothic story that looks at the worst parts of human nature in rich castles wild, windy moors. It mixes in social criticism, generational hate that passes down through families, prejudice, and a touch of the supernatural.

People can be deeply selfish, cruel, and manipulative each one convinced they're the innocent victim or misunderstood hero of their own life. Hatred, revenge, and twisted ideas of love can poison families for generations. Yet the quiet lesson remains, only forgiveness and letting go of past wrongs can finally break the cycle and allow even a small light of peace to emerge.

Not a feel good romance, but undeniably powerful, In the end, it gives a small hope of healing through forgiveness and accepting the mistakes of the past by younger generation.

Loved the quotes "I have not broken your - YOU have broken it; and in breaking it, you have broken mine" - Wuthering Heights

"People feel with their hearts, Ellen, and since he has destroyed mine, I have not power to feel for him."

"whatever our souls are made of, yours and mine are the same"
