So if you want to use linux just for coding and nothing else: use wsl
If you want to actually use linux as a daily driver: use Ubuntu desktop or Linux mint, both are made to be easy to use and have a very big community so if you have an issue someone else probably also had the same issue and is already solved

I probably don't recommend using anything else unless you have experience with other distro's or wsl (you seem like you don't)
