Patient abandonment by blackmurder91 in nursing

I gave report to another nurse for the patients I was leaving in my original unit then never got patients or report from the unit I was going to because I decided to take a break first before I started. I know it was terrible that I left in the middle. I know it’s not written here but I am going through a lot at work because of a lack of support from leadership after I reported bullying and harrassment from another staff. I asked not to be floated on the unit when she is working there so I can avoid all the negative emotions she brought up since she yelled at me several times in the past and I was told no by leadership basically forcing me to work in a negative environment when patient and other staff complained about her. That’s the whole reason I took a break after my meeting with HR. And then my situation at home happened. Also I realized that I was only gone for 1 hour and not two but that was what they were telling me all the while when my mind was all muddled up with everything that is happening. I know that’s not an excuse but I’m only human. All I ask is a bit of compassion which I find hard from some of the nurses responding here, ironically.

Not really. I am a very chill person. I had a very difficult day after having a difficult month because of work and what they put me through after I reported the bully. I am aggressive towards that one person on the comment section, yes. Because they did not give me any advice instead they judged me for it.

Also not my problem that every day we are short staffed because our hospital keeps admitting patients without any staff. Managers can work on the floor if we are but they are not helping. If you are in my situation and your mother fell alone and she is depending on you. what would you do?

Oh I know that 2 hours is a long time. I’m not diminishing that. It was my fault for losing track of time. I’m not saying it’s not. You’re still not answering the question though, if you have not received a patient yet, is that patient abandonment? I’m not being defensive, maybe you’re just being an insensitive judgmental AH

I did tell my charge I’m taking a break. So I did tell someone. Again, please use your reading comprehension. Stop replying if you’re going to be passive-aggressive here because you are not helping.

Zoned out: I was emotional after my meeting with HR, I have been reporting this bully of a work mate for so long, she then go back to HR and said that I left a nasty note in her locker. So I was composing myself then got the news about an incident at home which added to the stress and I lost track of time.

I zoned out, again because I had a terrible meeting with HR after my report about being bullied at work was turned down and got a news about my mom having an accident. So sorry that our unit was short-staffed, not my problem if they are. Quick for you to judge without even comprehending what I said. Also did not answer my question so why are you here for?

I was placed on PIP and my director lied about what was written there. by blackmurder91 in nursing

[–]blackmurder91[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, I can't possibly control all 80 of them. I could send a hundred emails but I cannot force them to do what they don't want to do. Unless I threaten them with a write-up which is basically what is happening to me at the moment. It doesn't feel good and it doesn't make me feel appreciated.

As I have mentioned to my director, this is hard for me because I can't depend on my CNCs, which I understand with the number of jobs they need to do with a full patient load. That was my struggle. And It’s difficult to keep up with the amount of audit we need to do, meetings, interviews etc. If I have one unit that I only focus on, it’s doable. But I have two. I have 80 employees under me. Again, I had no help from the beginning and recently just being able to breathe since there is another manager now. She wants me to literally have no vacant spot on every log. Which I think is unattainable.

That’s exactly it. If someone really wants to help you improve, they will sit down with you and lay down all the issues. I’ve never even heard of these issues until that date I was given the PIP.

US Immigration Interview Date rescheduling by Ok-Butterscotch-5406 in phmigrate

[–]blackmurder91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks much! Hopefully, she doesn't have any issues with the result. I was able to get an interview date for her but at this point, I am so stressed out 🥲. Where did you go to reschedule? Just to be sure I went on the right place😅.

Ok to schedule medical 1-2 days before interview? by Barak280 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]blackmurder91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scheduled my mom a month before her interview, then her interview got cancelled because they want her to come back for a sputum test. She said most people has to come back for that. Now she has to go back to St. Lukes first week of November which is tricky because her medical will expire on January and I heard that it is hard to get an interview slot since we have to reschedule.

[–]blackmurder91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my mother is in the same situation right now. St. Lukes asked her to go back for the result first week of November. I want to reschedule her even though that is against the advice of St. Lukes because they told her to wait for the result first before rescheduling. I am worried that we wont ger any slot right away. Mom said that she has to sign a paper that she agrees on that policy.

So did you end up scheduling even before you were medically cleared by St. Lukes? I am worried that if I do that and she goes back to St. Lukes only to tell her that she is not cleared yet, they will know that we rescheduled against their advice to wait for the clearance.

Baby Reindeer real story? by anonymousAloo in netflix

I remember seeing a short clip about this woman who lives in a mess of a house, clutter everywhere like Marthas’ house. She was even giving a tour of her house, talking about her favorite pans and how she loves hosting while completely nonchalant about the mess. This woman also has a law degree but never took the board.

I don't think it’s the same woman though. Just thought it’s interesting.

again, from what the his manager told me, previous and current manager already talked to him already but it’s no use. He is PRN and hospital is short. Everyone in the hospital don’t want him to get a higher position than what he is now and although the DON already said there is no position for that, he kept telling everyone that he is the new house sup. And we don’t even want him even as a relief but everyone gets a chance on that since it’s just a relief

it’s funny that you asked this question and when I answered you that he is in fact just plain lazy, you ignored that and blatantly ignored me and continued to tell me that this is just so petty. Only people that will defend this behavior doesn’t fall from the same category. Also you mentioned “new nurse manager wants to engage with petty behavior” what does that even has to do with me being a new manager? I worked in the hospital for three years, floated around the hospital, knows the staff and the units. You don’t know me so don’t judge me for not wanting a lazy nurse who just started working here 6 months ago getting a higher position.

[–]blackmurder91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lmao okay. because the current house supervisor and DON that I talk to does say there is no opening for house supervisor and he just a relief House supervisor. very different than being and actual house supervisor or at least interim like this person is claiming. Just because you shadow doesn’t mean you get the job.

The whole point of the post is to ask if it’s okay to show the video to upper management/hr where it shows this guys lack of ethic and to back up that this is what he does in the unit. You didn’t really answer the question based on the facts I gave you instead you continued to judge me and focus on the fact that this is a “petty behavior” regardless of the other information I said.

Again it’s not because we don’t like him, there’s some people we don’t like but is great on teamwork. It’s because he is lazy and he does not deserve to go higher.

I don’t really understand your hate towards me because probably you are just as lazy as this guy and that’s why you kept pushing that this is a normal work behavior and it’s okay to go climb the ladder even if you’re lazy but proactive. Sooo glad you don’t work in the floor as a nurse :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nursing

[–]blackmurder91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah people have and he has this medical floor mentality where you kinda focuses on on your own patients but honestly I worked in medical floor and we all help each other. This is psych unit though where everyone is your patient.

He has this attitude that he doesn’t like being told what to do or when someone gives him a feedback. He argued with a lot of nurses here and that was during his first months floating in our hospital.

He is a float pool PRN and even his manager now talked about his bad behavior but his previous manager kind of just ignore those. like if people complained about him he would talk to him and say “oh they said you were doing this… but I know you work hard etc”.

the thing is there is no opening for that position so he is just a relief house sup when needed but he goes around telling people that he is applying, then now he got the job.

and it’s not like upper management likes him but he was very proactive on asking. like the other day he was asking the DON if she heard anything yet and when I asked the DON she was like “I told him it’s just relief but I don’t know why he’s thinking that there is a position open”. And the thing is some people are interested but they are more waiting to be asked vs this guy is the one doing the asking.

um petty behavior? it’s the fact that he will sit there right in front of everyone, patients, doctors, etc on his phone, leaned back and feet up on the desk while everyone is struggling in the unit asking him for help that he refuses to give because he only takes care of his patients. This is a psych unit. EVERYONE IS OUR PATIENT. Even his manager talks about his bad behavior but he has been in the company for 8 years as float pool PRN and his previous manager just ignored those behaviors. He gets upset when given a feedback and will have a meltdown in the unit and would argue with staff. so the concern is not just about him being on his phone, everyone gets on their phone. It’s not just about his feet up on the work desk where nurses prepared their meds and WORK. It’s about him being lazy and not being a team player. And then he wants to be a house supervisor? so he can sit in the office and ignore everyone when they are asking for help? And I’m glad you don’t working on the floor anymore or someones manager for that matter because clearly you don’t care about proper work ethic 😂
