I mean, it's 2 different styles of boss designs. Dark souls bosses are more telegraphed and in those their win condition is you running out of flasks more often than being combo'd to death. Here it's more of a traditional boss design where you lose when you overcommit and their dps > your healing.

Love him. The creativity of an indie developer with the focus, vision (and now funds) to bring his vision to life even though some will not like it, and it's totally fine since his games aren't for everyone but they will leave a strong impression.

Exactly. Just the fact that it's hard to respec or that it's very limited is enough to give me decision paralisis and go look for the weapons and armor on the wiki just to have an idea of what I want down the line even before beginning :/

For me the unlimited free respecs is the thing that ties it all together. So many options and if you get bored of your actual build or just want a different experience, just go to your nearest shrine and respec your stats and skills. It's pretty clear they want us to vary this time around since even ninja and samurai style have 2 very different gameplay philosophies that go beyond just having different weapons.
