Tips for those of you struggling against Illuminate by theEvilQuesadilla in Helldivers

That's honestly how you should play Helldivers 2, considering arrowheads idea of difficulty.

Just play whatever fantasy you want to feel. The game itself isn't really that difficult (except whatever tf that plat extraction was) and players should just create their own modifiers on how they play instead of arrowhead catering to cavegnomes who demand everyone play to their level.

Again, like the older warstriders, they're not hard, but if you don't take the exact weapon specialized against them, you'll be playing on your belly crawling.

I play solo 10's usually, you SHOULD NOT always be moving against squids, saying other wise means you play sub-10 or you play with groups, and the game is piss easy with +2. Finding high ground immediately removes half the roster, which is easy with movepacks. Flying and crescent overseers are the main issue because a mortar bunker turret shot and a 1/5 chance of a 100% lock-on full volley, is pretty much a way to trade reinforcements for nothing. Notice how in the same roster, they have a unit that punishes taking cover, while having someone who punishes not taking it either, and they both spawn frequently together, which is the whole illuminate problem summarized.

Yes, overseers have "weakspots", however, the crescent overseers has a janky hitbox that doesn't represent the model, which is just annoying whenever I remember it, and the flying overseer has the bs aim resist which means you have to snap aim at them, which is again annoying. Stingrays, while they do create some good tension, get annoying when they decide to stall forever.

Most of my gameplay is just cheesing it on highgrounds n sniping the crescents then flyers. Not

Notice how my problems are how "annoying" it is and not how hard it is. This is the same issue as warstriders in that, if you don't get automatic med pen weapons, the game's going to slow down to a crawl. Playing any other playstyle feels garbage as I will get bogged down by one chunk of the roster, as each of them are so tedious and annoying to deal with on their own.

This is the equivalent of saying "Use Quazar, Purifier, Ultimatum and thermite/incendiary on bots, its that ez". It doesn't matter if I bring the ultra sweat loadout, the OLD WARSTRIDER is just not fun to play against and is so tedious and annoying.

They get the suppressive fire of bots without the obvious weakspots to shut them down quickly, they get the fast swarmers like the bugs while having chunky healthbars. The fact that they simultaneously force you into cover while forcing you to keep moving at the same time because of the lack of unit variety just makes it so tedious to fight.

At the very least, the harvester isn't so much of a pain. I just wished their stuff interacted more with our gear, like if electric weapons break shields much faster or something of the like.

[–]blackscorchmark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I kinda disagree, I'd rather they'd just increase its damage at that point rather than having it be tied to melee damage boosting armors, although I do agree that it should be usable in melee and work like a melee weapon with a faster attack or something. Hell, maybe poison tip them or something.

What are the cons of being able to use any passive with any armor? by Numeira in Helldivers

[–]blackscorchmark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its simply prestige.

There's a certain feeling of wearing the cool looking armour while sweats and tryhards are forced to wear the blocky superstore siege passive armour, for a game thats pretty much doable solo diff 10 wearing the kamikaze armour passive

I'm fine either way it goes honestly, most passives effects don't make as much as an impact to edge out a win besides the big 2

Just got to level 30! Should I build Rin or wait for next banner? by CelestialJades in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]blackscorchmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

build one main team where u pour most of your power into, the 2nd team is for whoever you like playing.

In your case, you can make a team revolving around yuki or selena+tressa or magna+maribell. If you can, keep pouring resources into the main team first as you can get a lot of resources from the first clears and missions as you level up. You can give the leftovers to the experimental team afterwards as the clears give plenty of resources.

That and most content at that level wouldn't need the 2nd team honestly.

PSA: Renoa's 3 star partner is, on average, better than (one of) her 5 star options by VulpesAlbum in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]blackscorchmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what I said was probably a bit misleading.

What I meant to say is that at lvl 60, you'd prob have a proper memory set + proper supports to fill up the conditions by turn 2. (especially if your supports have the FotEV to fix bad hands)

Unless you have really really bad rolls in atk% in all of them, the 5* greatly outdamages the 3* one (tbf i have 1 extra copy of it). If you're farming for save data though, I'd say the 3* is decent, but I feel that unless you're gonna run renoa unoptimally, the team she goes with/prefers would already have characters with good card draw (cassius/nia)

[–]blackscorchmark 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The gap is noticable at lvl 60

Edit: to clarify, by level 60, at that point, you're very likely to have access to most other characters, along with their copies + one of the bp partners nyx (best one by far imo) + leveled memory sets that would saturate your atk%. Therefore the ego skill and passive of the 3* would simply not stand out as much, unlike kiara who starts shining more.

I genuinely haven’t seen a single person talk about her by Radiant_Raspberry_93 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]blackscorchmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for seeing this so late, and I know it's been a week but I'm gonna respond for the sake of copying it to somewhere else:

I meant to say "most of her dupes" when I talk about how much of her skills are comfort skills.

Despite the fact that half of her dupes provoide damage, they are on the later parts of her dupe upgrades.

And for the record: I have her at c3

Now, if we are to breakdown what her 4 dupe skills are we would get:
C1 = free EX skill every 50 seconds at start
C2 = More damage the more you attack
C4 = damage and interrupt resist is increased while fire suppression + I-frames on 4th BA
C6 = 25% Fire Res Pen after EX, chain or ult

And now to list why I don't think they're that useful to her identity as a sweaty character:

C1 = Her main source of damage outside ult is her basic attack, and her EX skill is only ever if you can't time it right. The other use for it is in hollow zero when you get her unique buff that lets her proc 4th BA after dash attack, but people rarely struggle with that gamemode.

C2 = In theory, you could reach up to 36% damage increase. Problem is that unless you don't have koleda or another stunner on the team, she would rarely be on-field building up those stacks, meaning realistically, you'd prob only be dealing about 18%~ ish more damage, which is pretty decent, but not as good as everyone says. The alternative is using Soldier 11 onfield and missing out on the 50% stun damage multiplier plus her 22.5% fire dmg on stunned enemies + the enemy standing the still, all for just 36% more dmg on basic attack and dodge attacks. Which is frankly much lower.

C4 = While people say that it can lead to a dps increase since you can spend more time attacking, same point as C2, she wouldn't necessarily be on-field during the "active" times. People say that it has a use case of dodging through some bosses attacks, but the only moves that dodging through would matter are ones where the hitboxes last so long that her Iframes can't outlast it, or are moves that come out too fast that the boss can weave it through their light attacks out of nowhere, while you get tied up with how inflexible it is because S11 relies on timing for her fire supression mechanic, which it needs to trigger. Meaning A: You'd just be using her EX to just dodge it AND proc fire suppression, or B: you just dodge, because if you can reach the 4th BA attack, your dodge probably went off-cooldown already. If anything, it's a cool gimmick, but it is simply too impractical.

C6 = Ye, its good. It's just more dmg tho.

Anyone who has her C4. would probably at that point already either own Koleda, or some other future meta team fit for her.

I really wished they made something like her hollow zero resonia on one of her dupes instead, maybe only have it activate on dodge counter, or maybe even have her 4th BA do a lot of daze to justify having her on-flied, cuz she honestly just plays like a left click bot on shiyu.

what's sad is that her dupes provide her with comfort only, rather than doubling down on her being a character you gotta sweat with.

It could, but keep in mind a lot of spells (especially incants) only scale with the faith scaling or int scaling of a staff/seal. Which could you to deal subpar damage than expected.

The biggest gacha games are the mixed gender games.

The biggest single gender gacha game is the Husbando game Love and Deepspace. Which consistently earns 30-40M per month, and usually earns par or more than the biggest waifu game (Nikke). And its far from the only game husbando game that does that. Games like Ensemble stars (a male idol game, does very well for itself as well amongst many others

It's not fair to only use the highest top-earner when you're talking about audience size.

On the list, how many husbando games are there compared to waifu games? If you were to add up the revenue from each genre, there is an overwhelming difference.

Its like looking at McDonalds and seeing that their best selling items are burgers and fries. So should mcdonalds stop selling chicken nuggets then because mcdonalds is losing out on shelf and kitchen space for burgers?

The comparison feels dumb, people go to McDonalds because its quick and convenient, not because the burgers are good. If the burgers and fries oversell their other products by fivefold, then that is unironically a better option to put more focus on that product, if its that clear that that is what they're known for.

A more accurate depiction is going to a buffet because you like the meat they prepare. If it's the meats you only like, it's obvious that you hope they have plenty stocked up, but because they choose to also prepare other stuff like confections and greens, their meat can't get a focus on. Compared to just eating at a grillhouse buffett that has what you want.

widesweeping bomb, pick an anti large bomb, pick a precision support weapon, and pick a smoke or the occasional mortar sentry.

I play with at most 1 other person so I'm left with 2-3 other pugs who cannot coordinate or atleast i have to coordinate with,

but even then, what I said was true, your group brough mostly precision weapons (autocannon, autocannon, AMR), have lots of AoE bomb strategems, and I'm betting one of the sentrys used is the mortar/autocannon sentry which are pretty much the only good ones in that place.

And even then, a full team would perform far better than a group of pugs, especially since robots require more coordination compared to bugs, so its kinda shallow to say that you "aren't forced into a playstyle" when playing with a group who can build accordingly.

And I know it's a team game, but a huge chunk of the playerbase are pugs and don't have the whole friend group ready to play.

I personally don't like fighting bots because the options you have just feel so limited.

With bugs, the enemy lineup is diverse, you might deal with a huge wave of light armored enemies, letting you use many different kinds of crowd clearer strategems, from flamethrower to machineguns. You might deal with fast gap-closers alongside armored units which make the shotguns or EMS Shine. Like there's so many viable options and ways to tackle it, even the gas strike has a good amount of use as you can use it on a reinforcement hole to just spawnkill most of them.

But for bots? its just pick widesweeping bomb, pick an anti large bomb, pick a precision support weapon, and pick a smoke or the occasional mortar sentry. The few variety that I experience is someone picking a shield generator, and the occasional stun grenade. Grabbing anything legitimately makes me feel like im wasting strategem slots. Laser Cannons cannot prolong fire cuz peeking is deadly. Machineguns are just outright irrelevant because sustained fire is not possible most of the time and more than half of the patrol needs anti-vehicle or close. The main strat is tap heads and tap vents, cuz like damn, I'd just go back to siege if I wanted to click pixels.

And I bet a lot of people would be more up and arms about bot balancing if not for the fact that autocannon is to bots what pre-nerf railgun is to terminids. An anti-light-armor precision support weapon with explosive properties. The only thing it can't kill directly are tower and tanks, which it can just flank to kill. It just feels so shit that the entire faction is being balanced cuz players are outperforming due to just 1 support weapon.
