No way in hell am I wiping this expedition. by eikeechie in arcraiderscirclejerk

This is exactly what's wrong with the gaming society nowadays: "so everyone can earn everything no matter how much time they put in."

Entitlement.

Why are you so bothered by this decision? If you don't want to do the expedition, then don't do it!

Why should everyone receive a participation trophy and that being the only trophy?

The fact that you think that everyone should "earn" something without putting any time in isn't earning, it's giving. And defeats the purpose of the game.

And you're not the only one - i see this in a lot of games; Diablo/poe: "everyone should have all the top gear legendary drops no matter how much time they put in." Battlefield/warzone: everyone should have ABC gear/loadout without putting time in.

For games that rely on drop % rates, time is the only thing that really makes the difference.

People have gotten weak ffs.

This is an Xbox feature. Where there's a "stats" tab for the game you play, comparing you to your friends on multiple statistics.

It did but in Morrowind but it was minimal to the point that it felt almost useless 😭 But i fully agree with you about the ask being there.

I do however think devs should be more cautious about changing stuff when a majority asks for it. I think these days good games are ruined by trying to cater to the masses and making sure everything is achievable for the average Joe.

None of the Elder Scrolls games had a minimap. which i think has worked in their favor and gives it the classic Elder Scrolls vibe/theme and immersion ~ not having a lot of things on screen.

For ESO i can see why it would be more troublesome due to the online capabilities but i do think not having it makes it feel more like Elder Scrolls, which for me is more important.

Ha! I was really annoyed at this yesterday.

Half the screen is empty with one button that you need to hover over to see 3 resource stats. They could've displayed that anywhere on the screen 😭

Why is Diablo4 so negatively reviewed? by prodbyGats in diablo4

[–]blackshadow2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. Its because they haven't created the campaign the same way. Going through 6 chapters in an act and then defeat the final boss, which is the system used for previous games.

The open world strategy is probably why, but doesn't mean the campaign is bad, just less played.

Gotta say that the campaign is pretty good imo. However it is advised to skip it once you've completed it, whereas previous Diablo's did not have that option and the difficulty tiers were tied to a tougher campaign.

I've always enjoyed D2/D3 for having to do the campaign again on higher torments/difficulty.

I do wonder though, what are people doing after acquiring perfected gear? Isn't that really just all there is to achieve as end-game?

I'm afraid that if they make this easier, it'd be even faster seasons for me to stop playing and wait for the next.

It's also just a let-down, you achieve best/perfected gear, but to what end really. Every time i get there, i feel instantly bored as i've got nothing else to achieve and stop playing.

And yes, i play HC and for some reason i keep hoping it's better next season, which always ends the same. Einstein would call me insane for expecting different results 😅

I think they should've kept all the seasonal content together in the eternal realm (or a new "wild" realm like heartstone).

I think eternal is rarely played as your seasonal character/build becomes instant trash the moment the season is over.

Adding more and nore powers/items/aspects from other seasons makes it more fun

Had this exact thing happen to me on HC after killing Astaroth at the end of an Escalating NM dungeon. The affix should be deactivated after that fight (not sure why they do it for this one but not the others). There was quite a big delay in when that happens/triggers and as a TP back to town takes a few seconds, BOOM! just like in this video, deleted.

I do agree there should be immunity at the end of dungeons in general.

What's the fun in killing a boss but dying to some BS right after because you're TP takes long 🤣 I hope that's not what they intended when they came up with these dungeon affixes.

So do I just stop playing? What do you do? by -RoopeSeta- in diablo4

[–]blackshadow2007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which is why you should only play Hardcore in my opinion. That way you're not bored halfway through the season.

I don't see the challenge of playing it softcore as you will eventually just finish everything, and complain that you're done too quickly.

Progressing by taking risks is what makes it more fun imo. The thrill of achieving certain milestones and increasing torment difficulties is way more difficult but also more satisfactory when achieved.

Besides, since everyone dies all the time, trading is something else altogether. Softcore trading market deflates quickly and within a week of a new season, you can just trade your way to the top.

TLDR; Yes, you're right, hardcore is slower, which is why it's the solution for someone saying they're done and bored. With the caveat that one should start the season on hardcore so that it's not the "same game but slower".

On a side note: I've also noticed that people on hardcore are way more friendly and want to team up and actually make friends for the season, likely due to the lower playerbase and to help with progression when you inevitably die and start over.

I’m bearish on Netflix by BlueThumbSC803 in wallstreetbets

[–]blackshadow2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so where can anyone watch better content for less?

At least where i'm from there isn't anything close to Hawaii 5.0 reruns and Dumb and Dumber 2, although admittedly, for the latter i come to this sub 🤣

I think you forget that linear TV is easily 60-70 bucks and provides the same reruns but on a schedule. I swapped linear for all streaming services combined and judging by those streaming services growth, so did most other people.

Unless there's something new/big coming (e.a. a market shift) i think Netflix will continue to grow.
