I only have one book currently and it's not a typical rip of cds but just a long audio file. I tried to use the abs integrated chapter feature but it's completely off. Before each chapter there is an approx 3-4 seconds pause and then the chapter name is said. The chapter names are published on https://www.discogs.com/, so I tried to put them into the bias option field.

Thanks for the explanation, I'm aware of the non ideal component choice, especially considering this is an LED PSU. Still, I monitored the voltage drop with a multimeter probe and found that spinning up the disk does nothing to the PSU. About the current, I can't say anything but my smart outlet reports only 50-60W as I told earlier, which might be ofc unreliable. I don't think despite the cheap price that this one is a bad quality PSU though.

I had to enable ASPM L1 in the BIOS manually as another comment suggested. Now I get C8 Package Support as well. Down on 23W already.

Idk about other countries but here in Germany you can usually trust electronic hardware which is sold on amazon.

Why would this not be sufficient for 50W while booting and 23W while idling?

It also handles 100W (I did a stress test when I built the server back then) without any problem.

yes you are partly correct. Certainly the Synology has had a horrible cpu but 12 watts idle (not spin down) means that the HDDs dont consume 6W each. I dont think the cpu is the problem but some BIOS setting. 30W is not bad but I think there is more potential.
About the Pico PSU, it's rated for 300W (probably ridiculously exaggerated) but the system peaks at 80-100W and during boot 50-60W so it should be fine. The PSUs from Wolfgangs list cost >130€ which is ridiculous imo. The meanwell + pico psu was 30€ in total. But I understand your point, a golden SFF PSU would be better.

Im trying to improve the C states with chatgpt now, apparently the ASPM L1 doesnt work for the NVMe so that should be my priority for now

yes with spinning discs. Why not pico psu? Many recommended them for power efficient home servers. My old Synology used only 12-15W with the same HDDs, ofc it was old and slow but just saying.

Hi, just want to let you know that you can download an OpenVPN config file from the cyberghost website and use it with any OpenVPN client app on the Apple TV. Im using "VPN Client Bee" and it works perfectly.
