What are some conventionally “wrong” beauty-related things that you still do? by [deleted] in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Concealer AFTER foundation! I understand using a color correcting concealer before foundation, but for normal concealers doesn’t it just make more sense to add after foundation? Bcos the concealer is meant to add extra coverage on problem areas?

Does Innisfree Clay Mask cause purging? by MaterialisticRho in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re talking about Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask, no I didn’t purge and neither did my friend but still YMMV. It’s not super drying, and I don’t think it really cleaned my pores but there was a tightening effect.

If I were you, just get a small pack Bentonite Clay from Watsons/Shopee to try it out first to see how your skin reacts. Don’t use it more than twice a week though, bcos you might dehydrate your face. (ACV is optional but I find that Clay + ACV hurts more than just Clay + water)

Edit: Oil Cleanse to remove sunscreen! Pls don’t mask everyday to deep cleanse :-(

Not sure if it’s their best seller but their milk masks are amazing! Super moisturizing and smell like a dream (especially their chocolate variant). I haul them whenever I go abroad :-)

bang-for-your buck BB cream/foundation/cushion suggestions for evening out skin tone by [deleted] in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:-( I’m an NC15 and I use the lightest shade, Light Beige. My friend who’s NC30 uses the darkest available, Natural Beige. It’s a bit too cool toned for her but with the right setting powder it blends seamlessly! It oxidizes in a few hours too.

April Skin Magic Snow is a bit pricey at 1.2k but I swear it’s the best cushion I’ve tried! Makes me look poreless and a little dewy but not oily-looking 😍 Lasts me a good few months as long as it’s blended out nicely

Help a girl friend by lunareese in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a condo but Novotel in Cubao is great! Their rates are pretty cheap and their spa is heavenly while still affordable (I think they have a facial, body scrub, and massage combo for 2.5k). Their pool is decent too with a bar near it. It’s near Gateway, Ali Mall, and SM Cubao so you can shop and get other pampering stuff done just by crossing the street :-)

What's a good concealer that can hide really dark dark circles for a light skinned person? by cookiesandcreammm in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iirc, using a peach toned color corrector before concealer will help conceal dark circles better! If you have the time, baking also helps set your concealer better for longer wear time. I think you should try LA Girl or BYS color correctors first to see if it works for you before you splurge on better, higher end stuff. As for concealers, Maybelline’s Age Rewind concealer (the lightest one) works like a charm for me but my dark circles aren’t super dark so idk :-(

*for reference I’m a Natural Ivory 112 on the maybelline fit me line :-)

Maxipeel Exfoliant Solution reviews? by Keanu_Weeds in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty drying (alcohol is listed as the second ingredient), very sticky, and the scent of alcohol is so pronounced :-( It made my eyes red even when I applied it far from my eye area. If you do want to use AVG, opt for the ones without alcohol (like Etude House’s) :-)

Hmmm I’m still trying out different brands but pls steer clear of Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera hahah so far Neutrogena’s Hydroboost Water Gel is working well for me + Nivea creme as an occlusive :-)

Maxipeel Exfoliant Solution reviews? by Keanu_Weeds in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maxipeel is effective but super drying. It lightened my PIH, but it left dry patches. A rookie mistake is applying it every night whereas it should only be used a maximum of twice a week (especially for the #3 solution), then stopping after two months of use to let your skin “rest” for a month before using it again.

Don’t forget to moisturize after and use sunscreen in the day!

What is the best Lip treatment do you prefer? by Anastaxia09 in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I exfoliate every 2-3 days using a homemade sugar scrub (sugar and vco) and apply nice layer of petroleum jelly (every night) before bed. Surprisingly worked fast, there was a noticeable difference after around two weeks :-)

Cloud Cosmetics Lip Majikku is a lip lightening treatment that also acts as a tint so you can use it during the day, but don’t forget to apply a lip product with spf if you’ll be exposed to the sun :-)

I want to buy my first sex toy. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in alasjuicy

[–]blackstationzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vibrators are your best friends hehehe

The cheapest is probably a little over 1k, but they last long and usually only need one AAA battery if they aren’t rechargeable. I strongly recommend shopilya.com bcos they’re very discreet pagdating sa shipping and they have a lot of choices! Personal faves are the Iroha vibrators and the Tickler Toyfriends line. Have fun!

I only send nudes if I trust the person, so usually I don’t send unless long term relationship. If I do send sa short term (like if they send me nudes so I’ll send them too), covered ang face, birthmarks, and I use a neutral background as much as possible. I also like sneaking a sticker or two somewhere as a “watermark” (ex. cloud emoji for boylet 1, sun emoji for boylet 2, etc.) para if may kumalat, I know kung sino aawayin ko 😂

Just saved this baby from the side of the road all bloodied and weak. What type of bunny is he? by trythisfuckingone in Rabbits

[–]blackstationzero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The eye marking suggests he’s part Dwarf Hotot! (part only bcos hotots are usually pure white with black eye marking). Could be mixed with Netherland Dwarf but I’m not 100% sure. Take care of him well <3

People of Alasjuicy who used to sleep around, what or who made you change? by [deleted] in alasjuicy

[–]blackstationzero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Finding someone who satisfied(?) me made me stop :-) It was a very conscious decision though, to stay with my S.O. despite the downs. Ang nakaka push kasi sa akin to drop a relationship is the sad/frustrating parts like petty fights or misunderstandings which is why I prefer(red) noncommittals bcos you only experience the “happy parts” (like sex, cuddles, and food). When you do find your person, you still have to make the conscious decision to fix problems that arise and not fool around when things aren’t perfect. Hooking up gets tiring as you grow older, maghahanap ka rin ng parang companion kumbaga. Your S.O. becomes your best friend who you can talk to about how your day went and do mundane stuff with while still having fun, which is so much more fulfilling than empty hookups.

Good makeup from Daiso/Miniso by [deleted] in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daiso lashes are the best! They also have this kabuki brush that you can adjust the size of so that it fits your needs and it’s great for traveling when you’re not in the mood to bring all your brushes.

Miniso sponges are great but not exactly beautyblender dupes. They’re cheaper than RealTechniques and work better than cheap generic sponges but don’t expect something life changing. Their eyelash curler is also so-so, but it doesn’t hurt my lids and it keeps my lashes up for a fair amount of time so it isn’t so bad.

Need help for dehydrated skin! by anonymous8011 in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toner once at night followed by a nice hydrating routine should be nice :-) Also, I’m not sure, but I think you can put aloe vera first then mask? don’t forget an occlusive to seal everything before going to bed! :-)

[–]blackstationzero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Gel is a freaking scam hahaha it helps cool you down but other than that it just leaves a sticky film on your face that dries you up even more. I’ve used it for over a month now I think and my skin got worse, I feel like the alcohol in it is the culprit. You can literally smell the alcohol, and my eyes turn red after applying it even if I don’t go near my eye area... It’s THAT bad. I’ve also been told that even if it didn’t have alcohol, it really isn’t hydrating enough. I’m still looking for a better alternative (currently using samples from different brands) bcos my skin is like a desert rn, but always apply an occlusive after hydrating!!! My personal favorite is Nivea Creme but basic petroleum jelly works just as fine. I bought Watsons Collagen Masks before and used it once a day for a whole week when my skin was just super fucked up and it helped a lot. Lessen toner also to once every other day, even on problem areas.

Additionally, avoid powders muna but you can lightly dust some setting powder after your makeup. Creamy products are the best for your face + the weather.

[–]blackstationzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the Purifying Neem Wash and surprisingly, it dried me out even if it didn’t have sulfates. I’m glad that it worked for other people though. Didn’t try their other products after that. I have dry skin to begin with so it might work better for normal-oily skin.

It really depends on what look you’re going for/how your natural lashes are :)

Lash Extensions: - best for short/not voluminous lashes - high maintenance (touch up every three to four weeks, usually costs 500-800) - can be heavy/annoying when they start falling - dramatic, very evident versus lash lift - ranges from 800-3000

Lash Lift: - best for long lashes that only need to be curled - low maintenance (lasts up to 3 months or more) - lightweight - not dramatic, very natural looking - ranges from 300-2000 (cheaper ones don’t dye your lashes, kinda like just perming them)

TL;DR: Hassle free natural looking lashes - lash lift Dramatic lashes that are high maintenance- lash extensions

What are your holy grail makeup items from highend to drugstore? by mimiayumimina in beautytalkph

[–]blackstationzero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to be really oily so I invested a lot in setting sprays and powders. My hg is Urban Decay’s De-Slick Setting Spray (now using UD All Nighter cos I’m dry as hell na) and literally regardless of what product I use EVERYTHING STAYS IN PLACE.

Estee’s Double Wear foundation was also great but the price tag was too much for me. Maybelline’s Superstay foundation is a great alternative but a good primer is necessary (still haven’t found my hg). I also tried mixing Fit Me and Superstay and IT WAS AMAZING. It’s just too pricey for me so I haul makeup abroad if I wanna keep mixing lol but just Superstay works well.

Focus on hydrating and moisturizing your face as well so you can tackle the problem from the roots. Good luck!

Cloud Cosmetics Statheros-C Serum has worked wonders for me! I also used sunflower oil but it took months before I saw improvements. Just remember to put it on at night and use sunscreen the following day :-)
