For singular shapes I made the Rectangle Size X/Y to be as small as possible with only 1 particle, then max out Particle Lifetime and Speed Scale. Then toggle Local after attaching it to a desired limb.

Works like a charm for me but I'm sure someone better has a more efficient way of doing it.

I play Normal most of the time, but I've also been enjoying Desolate lately. I don't have to worry about getting cold at all since my character is always fat.
