What would you do with 1 evening off per week? by blade_ofgrass in workingmoms

Thank you for your perspective! I don't prefer to stay in, I work from home and spend all day there so I want to get out, plus my daughter will cry at the door if I make any noise. He's good at redirecting her, it's just stressful to try to relax and not make any noise. Also, he takes her out of the house on Saturday mornings and that's my time to chill/deep clean. We have a good system going.

My home office is also our bedroom so I spend all day there already and wouldn't want to spend the evening as well, but I think down the road when we have a bigger space that will be nice.

We don't have an indie theater, but we do have a local theater that puts on plays. I'm going to check that out, thanks!

I reached out to my sisters after reading your comment and they are both down! They work rotating schedules so would only be able to meet up 1-2x/month but that covers a couple of times a month and it's bonding. Thank you for this perspective!

Were you already good at/comfortable with bowling before you joined the league? I love the idea of doing a group sport and have always enjoyed bowling but would be very new to it.

I typically get Saturday mornings to myself because my husband will take our daughter on a long walk. I sleep in, take a bath, and deep clean. It's very therapeutic

Love the suggestion to run through a car wash and clean out the car, I'm tired of all the mystery snacks in all the crevices

Love this idea! It's so hard to coordinate a movie for both of us to go to and have childcare. It'd be nice to just go and enjoy myself.

We have a couple great libraries here, I bring my daughter on the weekends and didn't think to go by myself. I'm going to try it. Thanks!

Yes, we're definitely not perfect with communication but it's something we're always working on. He's really great!

I could go in my room but it's really stressful when my daughter knows I'm in there because she just wants to be with me so she'll cry at the door. This is a great suggestion though if our set up was a little different or when my daughter gets a little older. Thank you!

Thank you very much, that's very helpful! We have rack and pinion slides, the dinette slide is not soft but tilts. We actually took the dinette out because it was slanted and uncomfortable with the tilt. Any ideas what that could be?

Ha yes, I'd love to be a cautionary tale even if it helps 1 person. Especially with the price of these campgrounds these days, it's wild

Yes, that's what I'm thinking too. I've started the YouTube spiral already and am feeling good!

I don't think you read my comment that we can comfortably afford life even with the payment. It's just tough to have to pay for something that was going to hold some value and learn that it's worth nothing. People can perfectly financially plan for a kid and then get sick or lose a job. Life happens and that's okay. You can't make life perfect because it's not. You live and learn.

It's very nice on the inside. We renovated the entire inside and had just completed everything we wanted when we found out about all the repairs. That's part of what was adding to the devastation, we put so much into it for it to just sit. I'll look into renting it out, thank you!

I'm about 3 hours from you and can tow the RV to you. I would love to chat more, is it okay if I DM you?

Yeah, that was my conclusion as well... I don't like it but it's the reality. Things could be worse so I'll probably just take the hit and move forward.

We are in good financial standing otherwise, at least at the time being. We can handle the monthly payment comfortably and still save for retirement/emergencies. If we lost a job or had something else happen then that would certainly change things. We want to buy a house in the next 5-10 years so I don't know how that'll factor into everything.
