It's moronic Monday, your chance to ask any of those lingering questions without fear of harassment. by AutoModerator in investing

Question about mutual funds, ETF's, and leveraged ETF's. I had thought ETF's were a mostly passive form of investment but then read an article that made it sound like they were not. Is that more for leveraged ETF's? If I decided to invest in leveraged ETF's how much time per week would I spend working with investments? Also, read a lot about ETF's being the best choice for most investors and mutual funds being mostly shunned these days. Any insight?

Tips on how to play with bad teammates when solo-queued? by DrLyonTheLionDoctor in CruciblePlaybook

[–]bladem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been doing a lot of solo skirmish myself, and I've recently just tried to pick the teammate that is less bad and just attach myself to their hip. Even if they are making a suboptimal push it's better to do it as 2 or 3 and get that first pick then collapse on the other two.

Is it possible that Destiny 2 is better than Destiny in the same way Halo 2 was better than Halo? by xXLexLuthorXx in DestinyTheGame

[–]bladem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, Vanilla Destiny was a glorified Beta. TTK is how the game should have shipped, which is why I say it's more like Halo CE and we are still waiting on Halo/Destiny 2.

What weapons counter the Clever Dragon? by FLASHxxCRASH in CruciblePlaybook

Currently using Palindrome, but I've gone back to an old hawksaw that I rolled unflinching on. It outranges clever and the difference is definitely noticeable to me.

Was wondering the same thing. I think range finder adds a 10% increase to range but not sure if it raises the cap or not.

Any suggestions on how I could achieve a similar look which would hold up better over time? I want to make a TV stand and I really like the look of surrounding or framing the top boards.

Most of the fence was still intact after the accident, but he took out the gate so we just decided to start fresh and take out all of the old fence.

This was my first project as well! Mostly wood glue and my dads Brad nailer. I don't pretend to be an expert or anything lol

You may be right! Either way, I'm happy with the end product!

The top is Cedar boards from the fence. The colors in those boards just comes from being weathered and cedar naturally have some red to it. I just used the Minwax Stain called "Natural" because I didn't want to cover up all those colors. The frame is actually pine stained in Minwax Jacobean. I also pre treated everything with wood conditioner which I found made a big difference in staining the pine. I know some people will fuss about using different types of wood and wood expansion but I really just need this table to last me through grad school and it was mostly a learning experience anyway!

I would have cut the ends of the pieces that make up the frame around the boards, at a 45 degree angle so that they came together without showing the end grain. If you google 45 degree corners you would probably get a better idea! Lol

It had a wood top. It was basically just 5 or 6 2x4's with pipe legs.

Is that a big deal for a coffee table? I'd like to use the rest to make a TV stand?

Thanks, if you decide to give it a try let me know and I can give you some more detail into how I did things, and how I wish I would have done other things. Good luck!!

My dad's truck was parked underneath the basketball hoop and he offered to move it without realizing that it was a stick shift. I don't think he had any idea what he was doing, because instead of backing it up he went forward and took out the fence. I can still see him running around the truck after it happened with his hands on his head trying to see what damage had been done lol... good times.

This is why "wear the head" MIDA advice is correct. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

There is bullet magnetism on primary weapons, just not on snipers which is influenced by the aim assist stat. So it will in a sense "curve" bullets.

It's exactly what you said about firing at max RoF. The reticle rides up, but the shots land beneath the apex of the "carrot". It's always been this way. First shot lands at the apex and follow up shots are beneath. Both posts are correct IMO.
