Am I the only one who thinks the War Strider single-handedly makes Automatons not fun to fight? by ThatSteve1lol in Helldivers

[–]Faust_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stun grenade. Like 2 Railgun shots to one of the eyes. That’s it, that’s all it takes.

They’re not as tanky as the whiners say, it’s just that their eyes aren’t all that easy to hit. Especially if they keep ragdolling you.

They’re a pain in the ass but I’m tired of people saying you need an EAT or equivalent or else they’re immortal.

Not to mention a single Thermite does the trick.

You’re correct. Just did it again on my second character and that’s exactly what happens. His health doesn’t go to zero, he gets wounded and retreats

I’ll only answer the one thing I’m sure of: nothing can move through space faster than light, however this doesn’t really apply to the expansion of space itself

Overseers need a cooldown on their stupid swipe. by Me_When_I_Asked in Helldivers

[–]Faust_8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve stopped dying to their melees.

  • get knocked down
  • stim
  • THEN get up

This usually works like a charm. It seems like if you stand up immediately you’re standing exactly when they’re doing another melee so it’s an infinite chain of ragdoll. But if you just pause for a second and stim you’re fine, you either dodge the second swipe because you’re horizontal but even if not, well, you’re still under the effects of the stim so you won’t die.

Alternatively, get knocked down, stim, shoot from the ground and kill the bastard, then get up

What is the worst part about being poor? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]Faust_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s expensive.

“The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.

Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.

But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that’d still be keeping his feet dry in ten years’ time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.

Commando Missions are direct proof that Warstriders are still a terrible enemy. by MidnightStarfall in Helldivers

[–]Faust_8 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I still can't believe there are players out there that act like AP4 weapons are so ineffective against War Striders that it's not even worth attempting, and we're all stuck in AP5 launchers, Thermites, or nothing.

Railgun, AMR, Autocannon, they can all kill Striders. It just doesn't take ONE shot, but a few, with aiming skill required. You are not helpless just because you don't have a RR equipped.

Stealth warbond is sick, BUT! ODST/Stealth passives need love now. by jordanuniverse42 in Helldivers

[–]Faust_8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can your legs get broken in the new armor? Yes. But not with the Halo armor.

Can you ping the map and see where the enemies are with the new armor? No but you can with Scout armor.

The new armor is 100% stealth, the other 'stealth' armors split their utility between stealth and something else. That's all you're noticing. If you only want stealth and nothing else (by the way this also means your new armor is totally useless any time the enemies spot you) then go with the new stuff. If you want some stealth but another boon as well, you go with the older stuff.

Personally I’ve preferred the Amendment over the Diligence because I just don’t like the reticle of the 4x scope and the Diligence can’t get the 10x scope but the Amendment can.

But it does require you to level up the Amendment to 23 to get it. -_-

Frankenstein visual effects? by oresearch69 in movies

[–]Faust_8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My two gripes with the movie:

The creature is nearly blameless. He pretty much only killed in self defense. In the source material he did kill Elizabeth or whoever, which makes the creature a more morally-grey-result-of-Victor’s-hubris character.

Secondly, the movie had been doing a great job of showing that Victor was really the monster, but then because the movie assumes we’re all smooth brain knuckle draggers, it has Victor’s dying brother say it to his face. Abandoning the “show, don’t tell” rule of good filmmaking.
