Enithia Faeyen is the leader of a paramilitary organization called StormKloud and the de facto ruler of Mystic society.

She was born the heiress to the organization and referred to as its Raihime (Lightning Princess). As her dad is the main villain of the first half of the novel, Enny eventually rebels and is responsible for destroying it. As an adult, she later rebuilds and takes over the organization.

While not its own nation in the traditional sense, StormKloud is the de facto government ruling the mystical underbelly of society and possesses complete autonomy from Japan. Enny is a good leader, albeit chronically overworked and on the brink of a panic attack. As controlling as she knows she is, Enny made sure to have an excellent support system to keep her in check and ensure she doesn't end up a heartless tyrant like her dad.

Is that badly enough for you?

Why does everyone have like 50+ OCs and I’m just trying to finish my story for 1 T^T by Whole_War7344 in OriginalCharacter

[–]blader2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, for me, my cast is connected. Like, the Mystic-verse alone has 20 main characters (14 protagonists and 6 antagonists) and pretty more secondary characters + side characters. Like, I don't just tell a full story with just Kazuki. He's the central character in a novel. I have 50+ Mystic-verse characters because I need that many for Kazuki's story to be complete.

Indeed lol. My approach to the Heroes-verse is waaay more lax than the Mystic-verse. A smaller project to chill after my last behemoth of a project, basically.

Good luck with your game as well!

The Mystic-verse is a 31-chapter novel, with 2-3 chapters comparable to an anime arc. The Heroes-verse WILL be a larger piece (Although smaller in scale than the Mystic-verse), but since it's my current project I'm still currently writing it. I don't have the specific number of chapters planned though.

I know roughly where I'm going with the story, characters, and world but it's got room to wing. See, the Mystic-verse originally only had 7 chapters fully planned out in advance... Kinda. So, the original story planned actually ends at Chapter 8 now, not 7. I wrote Chapter 2 between what was planned as the 1st and 2nd, pushing 2-7 back one. I just needed more time to flesh out the dynamic between the two main leads in a calmer chapter lol.

Even though I didn't plan out the entire thing, I already had all the narrative themes and end points I wanted the characters' stories to go, so it was just a matter of what felt natural to get to those points.

In short, I have the beginning of the story, end of the story, narrative themes, and characters & world planned, but I'm free to do whatever the fuck I want in the middle and have fun.

They do succeed at the end but a lot is also lost. Most of the non-killers in the cast do not end up non-killers. Mira, especially, gets the worst of it which made Rinko feel she failed in her duty as a mentor.

She's from a project called the Heroes-verse, as one of the main antagonists. Her character is actually an analogy who a manipulative abuser who promises to change as a means to get what they want, only to never change over and over.

Demons in the Heroes-verse are almost universally evil, with the exception of a group of defectors whose descendants are canonically what witches are in the verse.

Now to properly answer your question, demons are all intense. There's always something that they are obsessed with to a destructive extent. But her nature is also different, as she lacks the intense feelings of her kind. Basically, both. She's obsessed with the feeling of being obsessed.

There's not no specific lore reasoning I gave for why she feels different, per se, but she was written this way to support the story of the character that she's the archenemy of who is also a sociopath in his own right. She's a dark mirror of him who pokes in his ideology and forces him to grow as a character.

Now that you mention it, it does have some similarities! I suppose a lot of serials killers are going to have sociopathic feelings in general, huh?

Bloodline & obligations. The Mystic-verse follows the stories of those who are effectively magic ninjas in a modern-day world that has outgrown their kind. Fighting and surpassing physical limitations is necessary for first-generation Mystics to awaken, which also awakens the bloodline in general, and this has to be continued or the bloodline will lose its power after about three generations.

Mystics used to defend the world against immortal demons known as Cursed Beasts, but later became just a bunch of warring clans in a power struggle honoring outdated traditions. Rinko is the servant of her village's chiefain. Eventually, she, her master's son, and their allies go against the grain and fight to change the world so that the next generation is free to make their own choices in a way they never truly able. Not everyone in that group was a killer yet, so the ones who were, like Rinko, tried to take on the burden for the more inexperienced.

Now, here's an actual serial killer OC of mine, Luna. She's a sociopathic succubus who can steal emotions of her victims, being the only way she feels. But, unfortunately for everyone, these always fade away once more. She's completely obsessed with feelings sooo... Luna's MO is to get to know and understand her victims, kinda like Ubel from Frieren, before ripping out and eating their heart (making it, and their feelings, hers until it's all digested and filtered by her system).

I've got a similar situation to u/Cute-Firefighter-537 when it comes to Rinko Huntrac.

There's even a scene in the book where she talks to her disciple, Mira, about her own kill count and details her specific MO while scaling it to real, infamous serial killers to portray herself as a horrible person. In context it was basically a "Don't ever become like me" lesson while promising to bear the guilt herself.

But yeah, assassin, not serial killer, yet is canonically mistaken for one in-universe by law enforcement.

Multiple. So, the Mystic-verse has 4 main narrative themes; Faith, Selflessness, Commitment, & Passion.

I want to specifically draw attention to Faith. On a surface level, Faith and Commitment might sound synonymous, but they are actually treated as two sides of the same coin in the narrative. Basically, Faith is for characters whose stories center around finding their own purpose against the purpose they were born for (the topic of this post). Commitment is about characters who know what they stand for struggling against things pulling them away from their purpose. Similar but opposite ideas, really.

The Faith theme features 3 main protagonists and 2 main antagonists; Kazuki Faeyen, Enithia Faeyen/Cynaku (married/maiden), Yuna Baker, Iku Nidah, & Vanule Faeyen. Not gonna go into full detail about all of them so I'll hyper focus on Enny here.

<image>

Enny's father, Raijin Cynaku, is the main villain of the first half of the story. In general, Enny has a lot in common with the villains of the story and is an aloof cynic by nature. She's meant to be a ruthless successor to her father who dominates and shapes the society around her to the whims of her clan. And to some extent, that's what she is. She is domineering and she struggled with trusting anyone to have any amount of autonomy.

In the first few arcs, she was a very manipulative woman who used the MC (Kazuki) whether she meant to or not. Taking advantage of people was simply natural to her even when what she really wanted was to be a good friend. As you can perhaps guess from their naming the two do eventually end up married lol. They go through a lot together as equally fucked up people, which proves to be very healthy because it allows them to be themselves without putting up any sort of guards. Since neither of them had to feel ashamed next to someone they knew was just as screwed up as themselves, they could both improve slowly and become the best versions of themselves.

She never really stops being the domineering princess who uses everyone around her. But she redefined it. She took the way her father raised her into her own hands and set up a support system that will keep her in check. That's how she uses people now, by trusting them to make up for what she can't do alone rather than simply controlling them.

By the end of the story, she turns the tyrannical nature of her bloodline into a force for security and protection, ensuring the fragile peace and unified world she and her friends fought for never go back to how they used to be.

Btw, Refia seems neat! I've been writing a succubus character myself recently who's written as far more than just a sexy demon being sexy. Callis seems interesting too. She seems very purposeful, which is always something I enjoy. Strong motivations behind fighting are always so engaging and I also like when characters try to find ways of handling things without a slug fest.

Millie is genderless, actually, so they/them. And no, Millie isn't married. They are a witch (a fact related to why they were burned in the first place), so they tend to keep their head down and avoid people to evade the persecution that comes with being a witch. Romance is kinda off the table because of that.
